Oh and see, cocktails I keep remembering what I want to say.

I live on 80 acres in zoning conditions. I can build x houses on my property. But, zoning takes over from there. The x houses is not really a function of sewer as much as access road. My road is not two lane and not generally maintained as a priority by the county.

Often "limits" are set for things like sewer that are generated by things like road. Say, okay Hunter you can build five houses on your 80 acres because your road sucks. So, five houses means you shall have x sewer and y water.

Knowing why the standards are set establishes how to circumvent them.

Hmmm....you're either north of Sacramento, or East of El Centro.

Actually, my property is in a part of Free America just a tad south east of Sac. But if the liberals here knew there was still Free America in among them, they'd have the pitchforks and torches out in no time.

There's still some good dirt east of Sac. Linden? Calaveras?

Well if you are really good to the nutsackers in the MN airport bathrooms, maybe they will chip in and fly you to CA. That way you can compare the differences between the two sacks, errr I mean groups. Let us know which ones taste better.

Well, classless, tasteless shiteating nutsackers such as yourself notwithstanding,
fuck off, you ignorant twatwaffle.

Ya know what mnothertail....you need to start actually contributing....I think you have the capacity to do so.

I think you're one of those guys that got held back in 2nd grade but were actually smarter than what the reports said.

(I could be wrong...it happened once....in 1983.....)

(And those that claimed as such were, of course.....wrong).

I just like to say even if its proven vaccines cause Autism i rather have an Autistic child than a DEAD child. Anyone who believes differently needs to rethink their priorities.

You know what, not only are you an idiot, you're a self righteous idiot.

I am of an age when we didn't have all of those vaccines. I'll tell you a little secret, we didn't wear helmets while cycling either. I and all of my siblings lived through it.

As I recall when one of us caught one of those diseases that my mother hoped all of the siblings would catch it and she could get over that disease in the family in one fell swoop.

But, you would rather your kid had autism rather than parent.

Do you know why vaccines are required, because the schools don't get paid by the state when a kid is out sick. So, you believe that it would be better for your kid to have autism than the school lose money and your sanctimonious enough to tell people that you are so sure of your position that if they don't agree with you they just need to rethink things and come around to your position.

Do you know what Roe v Wade was? Of course you don't, your a liberal. You think you do but you don't.

Roe v Wade found that the government did not have the right to come between a woman and her doctor. Liberals cry Roe v Wade supersedes all else making women god. Yet, here, you say as soon as a kid is born it's morally correct for the government to intervene between a woman and her doctor in order to save a little money for schools.

You are a maggot with no brain who sucks at the tit of the government so much you can't see the real world.

Autism is a currently debatable (I hate to call it a a disease, because I believe in 50 years they'll deem it "not at all") dilemma. It's growing (in my opinion, not because the actuality of it has increased but rather, because they now know more and can find it easier). The parents that deal with these kids have a lifetime of care and debate as to "who caused it.....was it your genes? Mine?" and so many marriages end in horror because they debate who was at fault.

It's sad at best. These are beautiful kids and, at minimum, amazing kids. Some of these ("crazy") kids will change our world.

Cesan, Pissaro, Degas, all were deemed later (who can know now?) as Autistic....couldn't relate to others but, with vastly limited social skills, they still saw things that today we find amazing....as importantly....that none of us could have seen with a magnifying glass.

Cesan and Pissaro both lived in the same community, paid for their meals with art.

I've seen their art in several places, MOMA, the Getty, up close, side by side.

Autism is a structurally deficient emotional void that can destroy lives (almost always Moms, Dads and family members, rarely the autistic. It often ends up producing children that don't understand social protocols. Any "hi, how are ya's" because it's as if you said "Hello, how are you?" and they said "Tuesday".

Which isn't wrong.

For them.

But they, like others, bring beauty.

Funny, I have great uncles, aunts and cousins who didn't, so does my anecdote trump your anecdote or is that just a stupid way to look at population-sized effects?

quote:

Incorrect. Vaccines are required for schools because otherwise we see increased spread of infectious disease which, despite your own personal experience (n=1), can have very serious consequences up to and including death.

I take it back, you're an exceptionally rude one. Are you the sort who decries the decline of manners and civility in the public sphere and then addresses others this way?

One can't help but feel like you're talking to the mirror. Your posts absolutely drip with self-righteousness.

Undistilled, social vaccination programmes rely upon a view that takes the good of society *as a whole* as its precept. In the USA, there are ultra-individualists who make our Brit self-avowed ultra-individualists look like a bunch of government-bumlicking pinko commies. They're vociferously represented on this thread. Well, you probably know what you're up against. Just saying.

She does :)

I have a slight hunch that this new 'relaxed rules' experiment isn't going to be spectacularly successful, M3.

Wrong thread Peon. Please put your input on the thread it will do the most good. Let's not hijack other threads when there is one dedicated to this. [;)]

I worked with 5 pediatricians, they doubted the science. There is a science for everything. As many additives, chemicals, and other medications indirectly or directly exposed to it could be our foods, it could be pesticides, it could be santa claus.

No there isn't actually. There is a whole lot that shows that vaccines have absolutely nothing to do with autism.

I have no idea what you mean but there remains no science supporting a link between vaccines and autism.

MercTech -> RE: Liberal Science Denial (6/4/2014 9:19:49 PM)

Getting a big spoon to stir the autism pot.... a few points and a question...

1> If you expose a healthy person to Bromides, especially Lithium Bromide they start showing symptoms of attention deficit and autism. If the exposure goes on long enough, you get schizophrenia. A gradual recovery is possible after removing the person from the exposure. These symptoms were documented by U.S. Navy and that is why the water purification systems that used LiBr were removed from Naval Vessels. (The MSDS for LiBr says "Chronic absorption of lithium bromide may cause central nervous system disturbances (drowsiness, lack of coordination, ataxia, depression, psychoses) and skin rashes.")

2> Since 1976, Methyl Ethyl Lead has been replaces by Methyl Bromide as an anti knock compound in commercial gasoline.

3> One thing most industrial hygienists agree on is that pre-natal exposure to hazardous chemicals effects a fetus much more readily than an adult.

I don't have a statistical reference but it sure seems like there is more attention deficit problems and documented cases of autism since the late 70s.

Now for the thing that makes one go "Hmmm": Could breathing in bromides for years be affecting the nervous system of susceptible children? It did take 30 years to get the fact that lead based paint effs up children worked into regulations in law.

Hmmmmmmm.... anyone got a Piled Higher and Deeper and want to try a grant proposal to study this?

DomKen -> RE: Liberal Science Denial (6/4/2014 9:50:22 PM)

Since we no longer use methyl bromide (phase out ended in 2005) It would be reasonable to assume that if it was a cause in the way you imply that we should be seeing a decline in the autism rate which is not occurring. It was an interesting theory until I hit the fact that we phased the stuff out.

Also there is no indication it was ever a anti knock additive

Maybe you meant something else?

Not really, because the corporations had control of that city, in reality.

Absolutely, serious as a heart attack. Detroit was and is a corporate town.

However, this matter does not pertain proximally to the subject of this thread.

You're a Yorkie? All this time I never knew, or is it just the Yorkie accent/dialect whatever, dubbed in some dungeon in Whitechapel? I try to come off as Color Sergeant Bourne (Nigel Green) in Zulu, but confess a complete failure. (Course he was actually South Africaan, wasn't he?

Both Methyl Bromide and Ethyl Bromide are used. You can also find wood alchohol, benzoil, MEK and other additives. Each "brand" of gasoline actually comes out of the same tank and have additives put in at the distributor according to proprietary formulas. And, they bloody well won't tell you what they add without a court order any more.

Gad, I sure tried a few years ago to get a list of the radionuclide tags they add to mark the batch boundaries in crude sent through the pipelines. Yeah, I was being lazy wanting to get the manufacturer to tell us instead of having to test every barrel of oil for a baseline (lube oil for reactor coolant pumps) so we could dispose of the used oil on a "no rad added" basis as simple hazmat used oil.

Are you sure they put Ethyl Bromide in gasoline? The MSDS on it is pretty nasty.

No, I'm Home Counties born, but living in Bristol. Aardman Animations is right next to the docked Matthew replica ship. And btw, Nigel Green used to live in Bath. Unmistakeable - striding around town with his ramrod posture just like the Sergeant. People always used to shout 'Pot that chap, someone!' at him.
