I remember how much fun I had as a kid growing up in small town Wisconsin. We actually rode our bikes and played baseball. My favorite Statler Bros. song though is ' Class of 57'...

Ham radio BEFORE CB radio was the fad
Watches and clocks with dials and a second hand
McDonalds THREE COURSE MEAL was something new and different. It was only 45 cents.
My family's first black and white TV
Color TV was a new startling invention that did not have a TV station broadcasting in color in our area.

A record label "49th State" several years before Hawaii became a state.
Hawaii was a territory ... not a state. It was considered overseas duty. I was living there back then.
Alaska was a territory also.
Going to grade school at a military base that has been closed for several years now.

Mom picking strawberries by hand and then making jam with them They called it canning despite being in a jar. It's still done today by a dying few.

Traveling across the country before there was an Interstate Highway
Two Gun Arizona - population two persons, two cats and two buildings. It was on a two lane highway. Don't blink or you missed it out in the middle of nowhere.

OMG, an Opel Kadett was my very first car (thanks Bro, here's my $400)! It had to be bump/jump started EVERY SINGLE TIME. I always carried jumper cables and parked at the top of an incline if possible.
