It's, technically, possible. I don't think that's coincidental, mind you. However, the backup tapes being found now, may just mean that they've already been scrubbed, too.

There has yet to be any link to the White House showing any evidence that it was involved in the IRS scandal. Nothing. That they want to cover it up and shoo it away quickly isn't damning evidence of any wrongdoing on the part of the White House, either. This is an election year. Clearing shit up as quickly as possible (and regardless of the White House being involved or not, the White House and Democrats will be reviled by the GOP as long as the issue is alive) means the dyspepsia can ease before the polls open in November.

Regardless of which party is in the majority, that party will do all it can to keep things calm and smooth going into an election, unless it can cause a clamor it can successfully blame on the other party.

You're nearly as generous as Barack Obama himself

And that is really generous

HE is so generous, in fact, that he declared that there is no scandal prior to any kind of investigation whatsoever

So obviously there is no need for oversight. No need for a congress, nor for a free press, or courts, when we have a king to decide such things on the fly and declare such matters settled

There is yet no proof whatsoever that the White House had any hand in the scandal. I never claimed there wasn't a scandal, either. I just don't think it reaches the White House. It's starting to look like the DoJ was in on it, but that's not a guarantee, either.

It's all speculation that the White House has anything to do with it. I know you're trying to drag the President through the muck for this. While we have plenty of things to drag him through the muck over, this isn't one of those things to this point.

You may end up being right. I don't think you will be, but it's not yet known. Until there is a link, though, any claim that the President is involved, is still speculation.

Do you see how Megyn Kelly was able to defend the President? In doing so, she didn't lie about anything. She brought out that he hasn't done anything himself that is proven. It's looking like the IRS is covering trying to cover their asses, and it's not working. The DOJ might be implicated, too. It's still not over with.

Their continued jumps and reference to "this Administration" aren't proven out by any information or proof. They are jumping, as are you, on the President and his Administration simply through speculation. Even if President Obama came out and said that he felt the IRS was proper in what they did or how they did it, it still wouldn't be proof that he had anything to do with what happened. Plain and simple.
