And they are such attention whores that they purposely start arguments and provoke others hoping to cause a shitstorm.

It really is sad. The occasional snark is expected, and tolerated when the poster has shown to contribute something to the forum, in terms of discussion and debate. (For some of us it is a bit more often than occasionally, lol.)

But these people have no other goal than to provoke, because no one will pay any attention to them in real life. So they go on some place like this and decide that any attention, including negative attention, is better than none.
