Get your facts straight.

You do realize who you're talking to, right?

I know, wishful thinking.
At least I didn't accuse him of channeling Ken.

Well, California has been the vanguard of gun restriction since Reagan first implemented them.

NOT TO REPLY TO ANYONE --- Just a bit of humor to lighten the mood. Lots of truth to it though.

The Coyote Principle

The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out of the brush and attacks the Governor's dog. The Governor starts to intervene, but then reflects on the movie "Bambi" and realizes that the coyote is only doing what comes natural. The coyote then attacks the Governor and bites him before running off.

The Governor calls animal control. Animal control captures the coyote and bills the state $500 for testing it for diseases and $1000 for relocating it.

He then calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and then bills the state $250 for testing the carcass for diseases and $500 for disposing the dogs body in an "environmentally friendly" way.

The Governor goes to the hospital and $5000 of state insurance money getting checked out for diseases and on getting his bite wound bandaged.

The running trail is shut down for 6 months while the Fish and Game Commission conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure that the area is now safe for people to use and that all dangerous animals are gone.

The Governor then spends $50,000 in state funds to implement a "coyote awareness program" for residents in the area.

The State Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world.

The Governors security agent is fired for not stopping the attack. The state spends $150,000 to hire and train a new agent with additional special training in stopping a coyote attack. The fired agent sues the state for unlawful dismissal and, settles it for $500,000.

PETA protests the coyote's relocation and files a $5 million lawsuit against the state.

*****************

The Governor of Texas is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out of a brush and attacks the dog.

The Governor takes his state issued pistol and shoots the coyote and keeps jogging. The Governor has spent 50 cents on a .45 ACP hollow point cartridge. The buzzards eat the dead coyote.

And that my friends is why California is broke and Texas is NOT!!

Great, do you mind if I repeat this story?

Well of course, DC. It's magical thinking, and it's very popular at the shallow end of the pool. You can sell all sorts of bad ideas by appealing to it.

A friend who is a gun hobbyist was here this weekend. He currently likes short range rifles that fire handgun ammo (and they are fun to shoot) and his latest acquisition meets the new requirement for fixed magazines that have to be released with a tool.

These are apparently required so that mass murderers will need more time to reload. What a noble idea! Except it gives us guns which are less safe, as people fumble around with a loaded weapon and a weird little tool, when what they need to do is safe the weapon as quickly as possible.

I posted a video link a while back, of a California state legislator introducing some new initiative, and just spouting complete gibberish. He had no idea what he was holding, or how any of it worked, but it was baa-aaad and he was going to stop it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJmFEv6BHM0

One guy took an arrow up in the high desert this weekend, but three got shot in an hour down in the basin. It's a culture that is the problem. Unfortunately, there isn't any magic for that either. Only hard roads.

Hey, No problem Bama, help yourself and anybody else can use this, and it should be spread around.

Watch out for the "head in the clouds" anti-gun nuts though.

They like to piss on every thing that is just common sense.

Like self defense.

Bet their attitude would change in a heart beat if something ever happened to them or someone close to them.

Absolutely, the issues are one of hallucination and anecdotal made-up factless stories, that is what we should base decisions on. No doubt.

The reason Texas is not broke is they receive way more in federal funding than they put in. They are a welfare state.

I looked at the vid, this Deleon should go back to pol 101; He makes an ass of himself just like the national pols that pass bills without ever reading them.

This guy sounds like he never served in the military, had fun on the Boy Scout rifle range or paid attention to the details in the operators manual of his "ghost gun".

And these dudes, oops, meant duds make the laws.

Yeeech.

>>> WARNING<<<< Don't piss on this one.

They are called "jokes," Ron, and the best ones contain some kernel of truth that make them even funnier.

I understand jokes, when you see one with a kernel of truth, let me know. Then we will laugh because its funny, and laugh because its true, but ignorant 'jokes' like that are only worthy of disdain and derision.

In self defence cases the lack of perfection is actually called manslaughter, that is a crime. The fact in some part of the world laws are written to avoid prosecution for quite a scary amount of reckless acts is a whole different concept.

Wrong, he didn't use the best tactics.
That doesn't mean he did anything in violation of the law.

What he's eluding at is that the law is fucking wrong in the US compared to every other civilized country in the world.

And what I am eluding to is the fact that it makes no difference what you think the law should be here. I don't tell you that something is illegal there because it is here and I don't like the way do it. If you think declaring something illegal here because you don't do it that way in your worn out country is ok you are an idiot. I find it hard to believe that bad tactics are a crime anywhere.

We have a saying here in Alabama, usually reserved for loudmouth Yankees, I don't care how they do it where you come from.

You obviously only read half his answer. Typical of you.

The bit you missed was: "The fact in some part of the world laws are written to avoid prosecution for quite a scary amount of reckless acts is a whole different concept."

And he's not saying what you said he said either.
He's saying that it should be illegal there like it is where he lives and in the rest of the civilized world.
Big difference.
