ORIGINAL: MrRodgers Look, I think you have this worded wrong. Once a person becomes 65, they are required by law to...sign up for Medicare. After that, I wouldn't know about income vs benefits...if any at all. I don't think there are any. I looked into whether or not I could edit the title of this thread to change the word Medicare to Medicaid, but I found no way to do it. I did come across something that I thought to post, but didn't that explained how Medicare and Medicaid are administered by the same government agency. You are in effect receiving Medicare if you fall below a certain financial threshold provided your state has agreed to Medicaid expansion. One of the problems is it is unclear what the financial threshold is. It is possible to get a table of numbers, but they appear to be trying their best to make ObamaCare under Medicaid unobtainium. If their Silver Plan was as expensive as their Bronze Plan it would make better sense. As a tax ObamaCare is as I pointed out earlier is less tolerable than the income tax and there are people who feel the income tax is intolerable. I am not one of them, but that is not the point. The income tax is in many respects fair and thoughtful. I do not see the same fairness and thoughtfulness in ObamaCare.
