Aw now, Stef, you're being unfair. It takes a fair amount of hand-eye coordination to fold a proper tinfoil hat. Just saying...

Not just you. I can't imagine what he's talking about either.

Well damn, maybe I should start a poll asking, "Do you know the story of what happened on 9/11?" and see how many other people vote "No."

K.

It might be easier and quicker for you to just come out and say whatever it is that you're hinting at.

There may very well be things the government hasn't told us about 9/11; that seems to be par for the course no matter what the situation. For the most part our government is closed and secretive, routinely withholding information from the people.

Well, you could.

But I'm puzzled by the coyness of your replies. If you believe that the U.S. government is putting out an erroneous 9/11 story line, why not simply say what it is and why you disagree with it?

Dont hold your breath, he has secret info no one else knows. Maybe he has been seduced by all the bollocks RO has posted on the subject.

Not the point and you know it.

We've always had fair debates when we disagree, you and I. Don't get disingenuous now.

If you want to hint at some secret, but not share it, fine. I'll assume there's nothing to tell.

You have seldom been accused of being illogical.
If the u.s. has a history of creating events that become the precipitat cause of armed conflict: then why would this latest armed conflict, precipitated by 9/11, be any different? No physics required.
As to the coyness of k...he is a wordsmith of some repute. I am sure he will leave us clues. It will be a lot like pulling teeth on a pit bull with aids.

I think he just pulls off the whole roll and crumples it around his head. Shame it's not working.

Do you really want to rehash all of that ? Suffice it to say right or wrong, 9/11 is now solidly a part of American lore and as such, there will never be a grand jury. That there will not be, doesn't surprise me at all...there never is.

It being accepted that enough of the American public does not want to know the answers to all of the unanswered questions, it becomes a personal choice as to how one wishes to live...either in a sort of smug satisfaction or debilitating cynicism. Take your pick.

Real One thinks the whole thing was carried out by GWB and co, which probably explains the lack of replies.

Can I borrow your "Fucking idiot" comment for SD please Stef.

I don't know what RealOne thinks. But if you believe the story the government put out, you're the fucking idiot.

K.

Which story?

I think that anyone who thinks the US government, or any other government, needs to kill its own citizens in order to garner support for a war; is not necessarily an idiot but is certainly misguided.

Governments don't need to do that. They simply need to appeal to pride and fear. It happens all over the world and has done for centuries.

Also, the political risk involved in such an act makes it nigh on impossible when the other options are almost risk free.

Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

Hermann Goering.

Heil Hitler, just in case we lose.

In the build up to World War One, many Russian peasants had never heard of a country called Germany; they had no idea such a country existed. All they knew was what they were told: that this far off place was hell bent on killing them.

Well, many of us here knew that Saddam Hussein was not the guy behind 9/11 and had no WMD, and hadn't for about 12 years, as evidenced by his not doing a goddamn thing for those 12 years, after we kicked his ass for walking on kuwaits grass.

And I am not real sure that ISIS is planning our demise either.

If one were to look closely at the precipitate causes of each of the wars that the u.s. has been involved in there is more than a little evidence that the government was the culpret.
The u.s. entered the vietnam war presumabably because of the tonkin gulf incident...we now know that it never happened.
We know that the u.s. govt had full knowledge of the coming attack on pearl harbor.
We know that the navy knew that the battleship maine was sunk by an internal explosion not a spanish mine.
We know that the engagement that presumabably started the mexican american war happened on undisputed mexican territory.
Just to name a few. All of these cost american lives just so korporate amerika could go to war and make a few bux.

Didn't the Americans (government) invite him to waltz into Kuwait?

I haven't watched a great deal of news for a long time now, so don't know much of anything about ISIS except I've heard of the odd beheading. I've lost any sort of interest on what's going on in these places - completely saturated with the thing.

This was in the sane world. Now, I'm fully aware that 'sanity' is aspirational on your part, hence the name; but, it happened.

Believe it or not the US government is not always benevolent, just like any other government. It seems that world opinion is divided on this matter. You think it can't possibly be the case and the rest of the world disagrees with you.
