The tradition then would be to forgo the salute.

What do you expect when you pay someone minimum wage?

I have worked for minimum wage before and my outlook was as follows - I knew what the job paid when I accepted it. I agreed to take the job, so therefore I will be a man of my word and do the job.

That sounds like bullshit to me. But then I have been listening to bullshit like that from people like you for the past 70 years so it is not a new song.
How old were you the last time you worked for minimum wage. Your profile says you are 64. How much was the minimum wage the last time you worked for it?

"It would appear that you also do not wish to be responsible since by your own admission you need your imaginary friend for help instead of depending on your own ethical compass."

I guess you were never taught to respect the views and beliefs of others.

Why on earth would I respect the views of a moron?
Why on earth would I respect the views of a fascists?
Why on earth would I respect the views of a rapist?
Would you like me to continue with the list of those who I have no intention of respecting?

You know nothing about me or what my ethics are.

Not so. By your own admission you refuse to be responsible for your own actions instead relying on the power you have vested in your imaginary friend.

I would invite you to refrain from personal attacks and to discuss and debate with intelligence.

I would invite you to get the stick out of your ass and try to discuss an issue with intelligence instead of the insight of your imaginary friend.

Or is it customary to attack ideas that are different than yours?

Yup...especially when I notice the bullshit smeared from page to page re: the dignity of labor without adequate compensation.

Did you really expect to waltze in here and post a pile of dog turds wrapped up in a copy of horatio alger and not expect to get it stuffed up your tailpipe?
If you really are 64 then you seem terribly naive...perhaps you have lived a sheltered life?[8|]

For me it is not a matter of color it is a matter of pride. I feel you on the color thing don't get me wrong. I feel a lot of unnecessary criticism has been aimed at our opresident by SOME because of his race. However, when it comes to the salute, because he is the commander and chief, he, and dubya ought to have enough pride to get it right.

It's impossible for any civilian to get the salute right. A civilian may receive a military salute but he cannot return one. Presidents and others who make some imitation of a salute no matter how pathetic are at least acknowledging the salute which is better than the other option which is to ignore it.

Ordinary citizens don't jump the fence and rush the White House front door. These loonies need to be taken out. The Secret Service has a job to protect the President. They did not do their job in this instance.

Since the President and the First Family were not present using lethal force would have been a massive over reaction. There was no credible threat that justified the use of deadly force.

servantforuse -> RE: Problems with White House Security (9/27/2014 5:51:55 AM)

That's where we disagree. What if he had a bomb strapped to him, or was armed.? Shoot to kill any intruders and protect the White House and the president and his family.

Typical gun-toting idiotic redneck response.
Do you gundiot airheads ever think that shooting first is not always the best response to a situation????

What if he was carrying a nuclear warhead?? Evacuate everyone within 150 miles - just in case??

Sheesh!
The president and family wasn't at home. So no danger there.
The White House, as important as it is, is just a building that can be rebuilt if blown to smithereens.

Shooting the idiotic intruder was overkill. Pure and simple.

Again the President and the First Family were not present, as in they were not in the White House at all. So you'd have been shooting the guy to protect a building. That isn't as easy a call.

servantforuse -> RE: Problems with White House Security (9/27/2014 9:34:08 AM)

It's not just another building, it's the White House. I don't care if the first family was home or not. The Secret Service is not doing their job.

I don't disagree that the secret service weren't doing their job.
I also don't disagree that the White House is not an important building.

But seriously??
Is it the secret service's job to kill anything that moves within it's boundaries?? I don't think so.
Protection, in and of itself, does not translate to obliteration of anything within.
And the building is... just a building. What it represents is important, not the building itself.
In that sense, it can be re-built.

Abductyounow -> RE: Problems with White House Security (9/27/2014 11:18:04 AM)

Seeing the military's history of reluctance to release traditions and ceremonies, good luck with that. When I served I knew how to salute properly, but often I was just going through the motions. A salute is suppose to be - so I have been told - a gesture of respect.

Abductyounow -> RE: Problems with White House Security (9/27/2014 11:24:42 AM)

Hmmm, integrity and self respect sound like bullshit to you, Why am I not surprised. Obviously you are not mature enough to debate intelligently without resorting to the grade school tactics of name calling. Your last post says more about you than it does about me. Your tantrum does not impress nor sway me in anyway. Oh by theju way, what I do is not called rape it is called consensual non-consent. But you know that you just can't handle someone disagreeing with you so you just throw out what you think are insults. But they are just the rantings of a child. I will - as you say - waltz in here and saw what ever I please. It only seems to be upsetting you. To which I say. Get over yourself.

What if you thought in a logical and rational manner?[8|]

If proving that your gun hand is empty is a gesture of respect.[8|]

Those would be your words and not mine.

I do not debate. I discuss.

intelligently without resorting to the grade school tactics of name calling.

Perhaps you might find someone who can read big words and see if they can find the name you think I called you.

Your last post says more about you than it does about me. Your tantrum does not impress nor sway me in anyway.

No tantrum just a statement of fact.

Oh by theju way, what I do is not called rape

Get the stick out of your ass. I have not called you a rapist and made no reference to your kink.

it is called consensual non-consent. But you know that you just can't handle someone disagreeing with you so you just throw out what you think are insults.

I pointed out the falacies in your logic...that I did not hold your widdle hand and and tell you that your mommie still woves you does not change the fact that your opinions are not substantiated by reality. That expecting something more than minimum labor for minimum wage is pretty pollyanna dontcha think?

But they are just the rantings of a child. I will - as you say - waltz in here and saw what ever I please. It only seems to be upsetting you. To which I say. Get over yourself.

Not phoquing likely.

btw: welcome to the boards now get your head out of your ass and stop posting stupid shit.[:D]

That intruder made it to the East room inside the White House. Do you still think he shouldn't have been killed before he made it inside ? Or do you still think it's just another building and doesn't matter ?

He made it through 2 doors. He was still in the parts of the Mansion open to tours. And no matter what the President and First Family weren't present. I'm not confident the SS had the authority to shoot to kill in that circumstance. I really don't see the point of killing a troubled vet over a building.

I think that bloodthirsty punkassmotherfuckers talk about killing all the time but only because they are too afraid to go outside without two guns and a dog to protect them.
Why do you feel that those who are charged with protecting the president are such poor marksmen that they can't disable an intruder.

servantforuse -> RE: Problems with White House Security (9/30/2014 8:17:08 AM)

They did a really good job of stopping him didn't they. He ran right by a female guard inside of the White House.
