Welcome aboard. 50 Shades was more of an erotic romance novel with a little leather thrown than a real peek into the world of BDSM. For many who are are deeply ingrained in the lifestyle, that book fell a bit short... well, a lot short. However, there is a lot of great BDSM oriented erotica out there and those books will give you a much better taste of what BDSM is about. See the book link in my sig.
