Here's a couple on your country: "Singapore is a destination country for women and girls who are trafficked from Thailand, the Philippines, the People’s Republic of China, and Indonesia for commercial sexual and labor exploitation. Some women voluntarily migrate to Singapore to work as prostitutes but are later coerced into sexual servitude."

This is very true, but at the same time, our authorities are always cracking down, raiding these places that are not licensed. Rescuing these human trafficked ones and freeing them.

There is already always heavy police patrolling in our prostitute district, to make it difficult for unlicensed prostitutes to hang around and solicitate, and of course, protection for the licensed ones, who runs into any trouble.

Majority of our prostitutes come in on tourist pass for the weekend to solicitate then return back to their country on weekdays. They are not even based here.

For a prostitute to get a licensed, she gets sent to health screening and then subsequently once every 2 weeks, subjected to an interview by CID, and then only allowed to work with one of the licensed brothels.
The illegal ones are often the ones that come in on tourist visa, pretending to be a tourist, stay for a few days, then fly back, and fly back in again.

With prostitution already illegal, there is still prostitution in the US, perhaps mascarading as escort agencies. There will always be people who will still try to avoid the licensing procedure, and they will need alot of work on the police force to keep cracking them down and rescuing them, but most importantly, for any woman who wants to work as a volunteer prostitute, there are legal channels she can apply to and get the protection she deserves. I think the most important part is how to regulate legal channels in an airtight manner. The non-legal will always be there, predators will always be there. Making prostitution illegal doesn't help the trafficked victims. It simply make them fear going to authorities for help.

Our rape stats is really low though, and I don't think it's under-reported, there is no reason not to report, our law really is leaning on women's side. And our police is not corrupt, as compared to our neighbouring countries. US has extremely high rape stats, worst than India, which is something alarming.

It's also quite shocking in this website alone, how many women have experienced non-consensual sexual assault in their lives before.

To let people know, catcalling lately has been taking a violent turn. Man gets stabbed for defending his girlfriend from cat caller. A woman gets hit with a bottle for telling a cat caller to leave her alone. Another woman in NYC got her throat slashed last month by a cat caller. These men clearly have some sort of superiority entitlement complex where they feel their behaviors warrant or demand a desired response. Just making people aware of why the issue is garnering so much attention.
