MestreSADE -> Review wanted: Wand Essentials from CollarSpace vs Hitachi and its counterfeits and imitations. (11/9/2014 2:10:16 AM)

Hi fellow SMers and Kinksters.

I know its weird, after all these years not to own a Hitachi. Well, but I owned quite a collection of other vibrators, but lets move on.

Time has come to upgrade the apparel with a Hitachi and of course, price is an issue in current world crises, since I am not one of the 1% with golden toiletseats.

Considering to purchase a "Hitachi" or equivalent, there are some options:

1) Original "Hitachi" aka "Magic Wand Original", costs at least some £60 or $80 plus postage. Well, its the original stuff, no question here.

2) Counterfeit "Hitachi" is an issue, how do we know we are buying the original stuff, when there is a lot of conterfeits that even the reseller might not be aware? Example Original?

3) Imitation lower cost wands, for less then £16 or $20, some of them including postage from china. Well some might suit the pourpouse and last, others might burn after a couple of days.

4) Then we have Wand Essentials for £25 + £10 postage, which I would believe has to have some quality since CollarSpace would be selling massive of those and I want to believe they dont burn in a weekend.

For 1/3 of the original with free postages, I feel tempted to get one from ebay/china, plus it has the correct power plug. For half price, maybe CollarSpace, with a crappy UK adaptor. Is it worth the extra buck for the alleged original? And where can one get it?

What kind of experience with these products would you like to share? Much appreciated!

We own a wand essential. I have never used a Hitachi and after having this I never want to. We have had ours for years, the first and second speed are basically the same but the others work just fine. Honestly I think the extra speeds are a plus...otherwise we would never use the thing (it only gets used maybe 4 times a yr as it is). If you do get the real deal I would get an adapter that let's you control the intensity as well or you may find it not being used as often. I do not get the hype at all. Numb never seemed very fun to me..

I wouldn't discount the knockoffs, with heavy use they may not last as long but they will help you decide if it's even something you want to use.

I wish I had never wasted what I spent on the knock off. Had I bought the real version? Wasting that much would be depressing.

I am not familiar with wand essential but I have a huge collection of magic wands of all kinds.

And conclusion is, made in germany, made in japan, made in sweden ones, and made in USA ones, really last.

All the made in china ones are really lemons, burns out, even though they aren't cheap.

I am just annoyed that Japan makes their fairy wand in freaking china!! When that's my favourite wand. But the problem is that you mail order.

I order from a local shop, so whenever my wand breaks down, I get a one to one free exchange. And it happens very often. Usually within the week with my extended use, alot of wands burnt out with my level of usage. And the sex shop owner is usually super nice to give me a one on one exchange, as I tell him it's clearly manufacturing defect.

Thanks for your view. I might just do that. The price of the "knockoffs" is little more then the postage, so could be worth a try. Kind of a "disposable one".

Well, nothing is made in germany, japan or sweden nowadays. Its all made in China, just as IKEA (Sweden) or iPhone (US). Its all about quality control. And the same factory that produces one, usually makes money aside rebranding and selling the same. Also, some just cheat buyers into selling counterfeit as real, or imitations with no quality at all.

As written above, all is made in chine, from iPhone to your favourite wand!

Yep, I might do that after a trial with a cheaper one. Makes sense. Or I might also just try locally and check prices etc.

haha I do that a lot with some powertools too. And of course, sometimes, I rather pay more to get something good or with good service and warranty.

Both were usefull on this. I just wish someone could give feedback on the "Wand Essentials", but maybe its neither cheap enough, or has good enough with the advantage of replacing it. As a sidenote, we are in Europe, and having this made in china to ship to US, and then bought to be expedited here to Europe, its why it costs twice as much as ordering directly from china...

Lets see if the "knockout" lasts a week... and if there are sex-shops worth considering.

If Denmark is anything like the rest of Europe there are probably sex-shops. Sadly my local ones don't help on this issue, a surprising number of sex shops in New England don't carry the hitachi.

I believe Fun Factory toys are made in germany and Lelo is made in sweden, and some california exotics are still Made in USA. Fun Factory and Lelo make really good quality stuffs.

But I love the Fairy wand and all it's attachments, too bad the quality sucks and it needs constant replacement. Even the silicon attachments wear out, like all the feelers drop off in less than 3 months. That's stupid Japan allowing their products to be made in china.

Lovehoney.co.uk will let you return for up to a yr... no questions asked. I can even say that with experience. Comparative prices for me here in the us (and I often buy from the uk site).

Their site seems to be down right now.. but I know they carry some version of it. If you do have a local store that will do a return or exchange that would be ideal of course. Here in the us I have never run into that other than their us site lol

If you are seeking a vib which has the impact of a hitachi you might want to look smaller. My favorite toy is a Celebrator, which is along the same genre of an eroscillator. It is meant to stimulate the clit. It is quiet, waterproof and has two speeds. It is the thing which has helped me keep my sanity this last year. I find hitachis are too noisy for me to relax. It is like using a jackhammer in a closed room.

FR To my knowledge Germany makes some of the best rubber products (from collars to inflatables) in the world and Denmark has some of the best sex shops (and pot serving baristas).

I bought my knock-off over four years ago and it's still going strong. It's going strong right now! [:-]

Not really [;)]

I don't think mine is that loud at all, it FEELS like a jackhammer, but it just buzzes. And if you put it under the covers, it's just a soft hum. [:)]

MestreSADE -> RE: Review wanted: Wand Essentials from CollarSpace vs Hitachi and its counterfeits and imitations. (1/2/2015 7:57:30 PM)

I tried the "knock-off" this week twice. Quite happy with it. Even if it would only last these two times, was worth the money.

A bit noisy, thats for sure, but also quite powerfull. Vibrations without noise its an oxymoronic thing...
