Even a brief synopsis introducing the post wouldn't have worked. The enormity of the situation forces most to withdraw. They feel disempowered after listening and retreat back into their comfort zones. Sad but true.

I don't think the title would make a difference. You are either interested in economics or your not. I'm interested so I read it/listened to both links, and found it interesting. But very few in my experience really are interested beyond idle complaining of the economy. I prefer to at least try to keep an eye open to possible future problems with a grain of salt of course.

Same here chaingang. I like economics; hell, I've got books by Gailbreath, deSoto, Krugman, Sowell.... maybe if we get PJ O'rourke to write a thread intro.....
