If I was to purchase a new collar for a subbie, then I would like for her to have her own 'name tag' with her pet name engraved on it. I could go to the pet store if the name was 'pet like', but my pet name maybe not what the pet store would do for me! My question is, can anyone recommend a discreet engraver, preferably in the UK, or elsewhere if they are willing to ship?

thankyou

LOL - I think they've probably "seen it all before" anyway! Another option is heel bars, most of them do key cutting and engraving.

I'm glad I made you smile MissP I did notice today at a heel bar they do what they term as 'Novelty' engraving, so maybe that is an option! Thanks for reply

Once upon a time I had one done in a large place, although I can't remember if it was specifically a pet store or a DIY place with a comprehensive pet section... Anyway, they had a machine which you could enter the name into yourself and it engraved it automatically for you...

And it wasn't a petlike name either!

At a lot of Petco's (assuming you're in the US) they have machines where you can do it yourself.

They are automatic things where you type in the name or whatever info you want on the tags and it makes it, with no other people invovled. That's what my former partners did for me.

Half of the fun for me was going into a pet store and asking the shy boy behind the counter to make a heart shaped red doggie tag that said "Akasha's Bitch."

Hehe.

You can click here to find the location of those Quick-Tag kiosks around the US. I took a quick look at one the other day while in my local Petco and the tags look pretty thin and flimsy. You can get less expensive/better quality ones online.

They wear really well. I use them for both my cats, and I have yet to have to replace one because it got worn out.

Too, it depends on what tag you get. THe painted metal ones are a bit on the flimsy side, the solid unpainted metal ones aren't.

Since you are in the UK, I can't answer for you. But like others have said, I buy the tag and do the self engraving at Petco or PetzMart. Of course, I will try a household collar on a slave, right in the store. So, guess I am not shy about it. LOL
I also believe they have seen it all. And why are you worried about the name? Lots of people name their pets all sorts of things, including many human names. And the tags I get comes in pretty colors and shapes, and are quite sturdy.
Now I also put "Property of DustyGold" on Mine, along with the slave register number...so if you are shy, that could get a bit sticky!
I bet there are places in the UK that allow this type of self-engraving. Best of Luck!

I have seen people put their pet's registration number on their pet's tag, I don't think that a slave registration number looks any different. Any my kitty's tag says "Property of The Lady Diann" which is a nic-name that I picked up at work and no one at the pet store even blinked.

Unless you are wanting the tag as a surprise, you may always have the obedient sub to have to ask for the requested engraving. Places that make signs and nametags often have engraving machines. I believe my custom stainless collar was engraved at a trophy store.

Good luck.

Things Remembered has tags and wouldn't blink to do a fireplug shaped ID tag on a necklace with a human name on it, that's what they do anyhow.

They have (last time I looked, about a month ago) circular ones in stainless, brass like, and plastic, fireplug ones in the same with additional colors for the plastic ones, dog tag shaped ones (meaning rectangular rounded ones) in silver, brass and gold (really and truly) with the addition of having red "Medic Alert" ones, and several other styles, and could probably engrave any piece of metal you took in. They have both the ones that hang and ones that are plates that are mounted to collars (the idea being that you have it made for your dog).

Then there are the Army/Navy surplus stores like "U S Calvary" in Kentucky (which ships worldwide) where you can get REAL military dog tags, pair of two, five lines of about 25 characters each, with the red medic alert ones as well. Usually about $ 5.00 US a pair and they even sell the silencers and covers.

The kiosk is where I got my tag, as shown in my picture. It's about an inch in diameter and says "Property of Mary If found please return"

Plus, most times the clerks won't care what you want engraved on the tag. If they do, then you talk to the manager. You also don't have to go back to that store again, if you are in another city. You can also have the tag engraved online at a place like petsmart.com and shipped to you. At that point you are one anonymous person among thousands. Or you can go straight to the source they get it from and have the engraving company advertised in pet magazines or TV Guide make it and ship it to you. In that case you never have to meet.

Just a few thoughts.

Also a lot of jewelry departments will do engraving, as well as trophy shops.

I'm in the Uk and as a task had to go into the local key cutting shop and get my own tag engraved, the humiliation of asking for a tag with slave ... property of Master was immense but the feeling on leaving the shop was almost orgasmic

personally, I'd say hold yer head up high and get it done, 5 mins of blushes makes for a beautiful tag

ROFLMAO.. I was at a swap meet last weekend and saw a guy engraving tags for dogs. I walked up to him and asked for one. He handed me a pad of paper to write what I wanted. I put Beach's toyboy. He didn't bat an eye. He barely batted an eye when the other Domme with me started to tease him about the tags intended purpose. I suspect a lot of these people have seen it all. Rather like the poor women who work at Vicki's Secret.
