Well, shoot, if this idiot sent you to the ER because it was too complicated to write an antibiotic, then go to the ER the next time you get one of these cramps.

I do understand the problem you have with not being able to switch doctors, but I'm willing to bet she isn't the one in charge of the clinic, so complain about her to someone who is. She shouldn't be practicing medicine.

Hope you feel better soon and get some answers.

I've gotten some answers, sort of. I've been diagnosed with emphysema and he thinks the coughing is causing the cramps (I'm not sure given the location of some which are below my rib cage), and although there is one more test to undergo (biopsy, oh joy) he told me rather casually that I have cardiac amyloidosis.

The emphysema is not a huge shocker given my smoking history but I figured it wouldn't happen for at least another decade. Surprise..

The cardiac amyloidosis was a huge shock. It is a pretty scary thing. Apparently the Lupus is beginning to mess with my organs, again I truly thought I had at least a decade before that happened.

Having an auto immune disease is always a bitch.

I have bipolar, PTSD, BPD and Fibromyalgia. Until we finally found the right cocktail for me, the fibro was being treated but the bipolar was hard to deal with. I rather suffer from the fibro and have my mania controlled. I can hold off the pain with Aleve or Advil. Right now I got a very nice toothache that is keeping me up nights (causing marathon crocheting sessions) Get that bastard pull out on Tuesday with my mom paying for it...I give her money each month to help paying the credit card. If Texas ever make pot legal, I will take cannibas oil (it is working on my daughter and her mood disorder because the drugs she was prescribed was making her disorder worse).

For the cramps, I recommend taking potassium and mageseum(?). I seldom have the cramps now but when I do, I work that sucker out.

I know it is absurd and the height of denial, but I was just so sure that exhaustion, pain, random fevers etc were all that would happen. That if/when things got bad I'd be in my nineties.

Now that the reality is here, I'm finding I'm not at all emotionally equipped for this. My usual practice of ignoring and denial is failing me and I'm quietly admitting I'm freaking the fuck out.

And didn't Texas just pass something about cannibis oil for seizures and PTSD? I live here but I'm still a Michigan resident so I don't always pay attention to local politics.

Camille, I get them too and have similar connective tissue diseases as you. What I found helps is a boullion cube or two dissolved in a cup of hot water or just a packet out of the Ramen Noodles without the noodles which are gross.
