Thanks for the link. Was divorce not available to this guy? geez I'm just glad that life means life in America.

DarkSteven -> RE: Detroit man found guilty (1/15/2015 10:28:17 AM)

MariaB, from what I've read, he sounds like he was a sociopath with no morals (killing her was cheaper than giving up his stuff in a divorce), and thought he was clever enough to get away with it. In fact, two days after the murder was discovered, the cops announced that he was a person of interest and that they were not seeking other suspects.

Divorced seemed the easier option, surely...the story not an uncommon occurrence, unfortunately.

But it is tainted with the inference of bondage =very bad all kinky raving loons, and not the good kind of loons

that was my reading off it....many people split their life/persona into 2, being a fetisher is not generally a requirement for this.

Because that's what *sells*. I recall watching a 20/20 or some other "news show" about this several years ago. My partner and I just chuckled at the "he's a sinister Master" angle--- while at the same time realizing that it is *that* angle that the news gets an orgasm over.

It is what it is when it comes to the media.

The stark fact is that his sexual proclivities probably had nothing to do with his murderous intent. But, it got you "clicking", didn't it?

Yeah it was probably more of a "If I can't have you no one can." type of deal. This reminds me of a serial killer I read about the book talked about how he made himself out to be a "Master" or "God" but really he was just another online predator.

Redhusky -> RE: Detroit man found guilty (1/18/2015 4:48:35 AM)

I watched on Tv about a serial killer who used bdsm to find it's victim. He was a sadist , he liked to kill it's victim slow and painfully.

My ex works at the jail where he has been staying and that sounds about right. He would spend all day in court crying over his dead wife and then come back to the jail and start hitting on any female he came in contact with. Can't say I was upset when they came back with guilty.

If he divorced her he would not get her money and from the testimony that was all he loved about her. And while he was in a bdsm relationship with the other girl the lifestyle really didn't have anything to do with the murder. I think the media played that up to get more readers.

Wow. He had such little self control that he couldn't keep his dick in his pants even during the trial?

I don't think he thought they would convict him.

I think the news has to find a reason for someone to kill. They like to paint that reason as an archetypal other so that they can play up fears of any thing other than themselves.

I agree with this. And hey, if they have some dirt on someone that can turn the whole story into some sensational madness they will. Gotta love ratings.

Correct about the dirt fact.
Somebody said if you say to the media about a fetish like :"no, i'm not into [fetish]" , well nobody will listen to "no", so any "no" for them is "yes" , "yes i'm into [fetish]"

Also dirt can make somebody look much bad that it is. It can discriminate. It can make jury & judge be more harsh than they need to be. Like that didn't happen were they condemned somebody not because of the evidence , because of there own emotion and opinion on that guy.
