Will it seems more of tweaks moderate Muslims following Sharia law… you know the tiny weenie itsy bitsy part of Islam…has displayed its disapproval of the free press… in peaceful, you know only shooting one French reporter and throwing rocks and bricks at police,,, demonstrations in multiple countries showing support for the murderers in France. Damn I wish we could get rid of that ONE bad Muslim who is defaming the billions on this planet.

koranic law for the "islamophobia phobiacs": photos of gays being thrown from tall buildings, thieves being executed and a woman caught in adultery being stoned to death.

You may not be aware, but that link is about IS, whom just about everyone opposes, and not about Islam generally.

Hence, the aforementioned islamophobia, which, apparently, applies to you.

Being on the Right does not automatically make someone a fundy Christian, Hill, or even a Christian at all. Same with "conservative."

I feel that those who are fundy Christians and on those the far Right are absolutely NOT Conservative.
They stand against a lean, small government that stays out of people's business.

The Republican party lost its way 30 odd years ago when the loonies were invited in.
Unfortunately, loony has become mainstream as far as that is concerned and it will unfortunately sooner rather than later destroy the once GRAND old party.

Anyone who has paid attention will know that this is what I have espoused for years

TheHeretic -> RE: Why is the Right afraid of Sharia Law? (1/17/2015 12:16:48 PM)

I get that, Hill. It's just that I also see that the fundy right gets played by the Repubs in very much the same way the "oppressed" special interest groups get played by the Democrats.

I read an article by a Rabbi that basically showed how the Fundy Right was being royally FUCKED by the Republican party (I'll try to find it but no guarantees)
Basically, in the late 70's, Reagan and his handlers promised Fallwell that if he would get on board with the votes that there would be sweeping changes in the way the country was run in their favor.

Fast forward 30+ years and we have Gay marriage accepted, Breweries and distilleries popping up like mushrooms after a rain, legalized marijuana, etc, etc. and the fundies are still getting out the votes to little or no avail.

How numerous or influential are these folks?

Does it matter? Or, does the US Constitution only apply to some?

Perhaps that's precisely what Falwell wanted, in private. [8D]

Hillwilliam -> RE: Why is the Right afraid of Sharia Law? (1/17/2015 12:48:44 PM)

Sorry, folks, I couldn't find that article but I don't think anyone would deny the salient facts I mentioned in post #46.

The marriage of the GOP and the Christian RW is destroying the GOP and making the Christians lose their way as they seem to be denying the teachings of Christ as it applies to love, compassion and caring for those less fortunate.

Hill, is this it?

Hillwilliam -> RE: Why is the Right afraid of Sharia Law? (1/17/2015 1:12:10 PM)

That's it. Thank you very much.

You folks on the Right may not agree with the author's lifestyle but I don't think you can disagree with his message.

Ah yes, the teachings of Christ ... and love, compassion and caring for those less fortunate. I've read about that, in history books.

HW, I dimly recall you saying that you yourself were on the right, once. Is my memory failing me?

Conservative (as in pre 1980), yes.

On the Right or a Republican, no.

I'm a raging screaming independent.

Everyone hates my ass.[8D]

Welcome brother...like you say we never have to worry about frostbite...we get heat from both sides. At least in the middle we can always find something to be against... but I'm afraid never much to be for.

Hang on to those history books Peon...........They have to be so old that they would be worth a fortune to some antiquarian 1!

:-)

Oh well. Christianity goes in these cycles, so far as I've seen. One day, it'll be taken over by those who want to be kind to people, again. I've no doubt. :-)

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Why is the Right afraid of Sharia Law? (1/17/2015 2:20:36 PM)

It will be easy to recognise when that's going to happen Peon..................It'll be a week with three Thursdays and hell will be freezing over on the Friday. Don't bother to strap your ice-skates on just yet though.

Sanity -> RE: Why is the Right afraid of Sharia Law? (1/17/2015 2:48:03 PM)

Yeah... All Christians are horrible people...

You just keep treading that toilet water

I am curious though. Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Barack Obama & his church of 'hate whitey', most prominent Democrats claim to be Christians

How does that fit into your trollish meme

Musicmystery -> RE: Why is the Right afraid of Sharia Law? (1/17/2015 3:14:01 PM)

Everything to you is all or none, so you assume everything to everyone else is all or none.

It isn't.
