AMaria46 -> Try Guys try 50 shades (1/30/2015 9:21:28 AM)

The buzzfeed video by the Try Guys on bdsm is all over my Facebook. It's cute even. They recited passages from 50 shades and interviewed a pro Domme. I thought it was cute and entertaining. I am totally crushing on the sweet nerdy boy, that asked the Domme "Am I kinky now?" After she spanked his bottom. She said yes and his face just lit up!.

Worth a few mintues to watch it.

Super cute!

"Hey guys, I'm kinky!"

LOL, it was hard to find actually so I'll link the non restricted video here. Honestly I am hoping this all dies down like Hannah Montana did at this point. Get your advanced tickets today for 50 Shades! All over the radio, le sigh...
OK, we get it. He's amazing, rich and has a helicopter and not coy about picking cherries of unsuspecting virgins.

Thanks for finding the link GoddessManko!

Now if only someone can tell me how to edit the post so I can remove a questionable reference, maybe I won't need to remove this thread.

Is that all it takes to make a Domme happy?! Maybe I just need to say I've never been kinky and ask if I'm kinky enough now! But then I would be lying and I wouldn't do that.

At least the movie is bringing awareness to those who never knew about this way of life before

I just wish the storyline had a good sane dom in it, and not a dom who practices bdsm because he thinks his a bad and evil person and uses it to abuse women. I reading online from alot of ignorant vanillas that women secretly love to be abuse now. Thanks to 50 shades.

AlabamaPrincess -> RE: Try Guys try 50 shades (2/11/2015 5:35:09 AM)

Although I enjoyed the books for what they were (just a story) I agree that although it does shed light on the the lifestyle, it may not be the correct light in the eyes of the narrow minded. By the same token, I don't know that there could be any movie that would show all the different variants of BDSM. So often when the general public hears "BDSM" they instantly think of all the horrific porn that has popped up or the crazy stories they've heard. When trying to explain that it's not all the same, with varying degrees, I personally have found they don't want to listen or just don't get it. That image of the extreme is burned in their brain and nothing will scrub it out. I think that is one of the main things that keeps us all "hidden".

captive4ever -> RE: Try Guys try 50 shades (2/11/2015 5:57:28 AM)

By the very nature of the film industry, "50 Shades" cannot be classed as porn, so this movie is going to be very tame and therefore of minimal interest to thoes into BDSM, and for those not into BDSM it is going to be of no interest at all. So who is it supposed to be appealing to?

Women who's fantasy is to heal a tormented billionaire and earn his love and his desire to change for her in return. That is essentially the real fantasy. Not the bdsm part. I don't think vanilla women are into this for the bdsm.

I definitely agree that if this was a low wage worker, it wouldn't work. It's simply about a rich and successful man who will change to suit you and make you happy.

inkedone -> RE: Try Guys try 50 shades (2/11/2015 10:31:51 AM)

Women that can't wait for the next harliquin to come out or have ordered so many on Amazon that the fantasy and getting lost in a book have become a staple in their lives. I have friends that resemble this would rather stay home on a Saturday night with the latest heartthrob and read then go out. More or less a wellness check to make sure her dogs have not eaten her on the weekends.
If you did not get enough of the 50 shades parody from the try guys for your listening pleasure iHeart Radio has created a station called 50 Shades with book segments read out loud.Ugh liked the sparkling vampire hype better than this.

No, it's not all it takes. But a smile is a very good place to start!

AMaria46 -> RE: Try Guys try 50 shades (2/14/2015 2:11:38 PM)

As for the movie, my hope is that it will start a dialogue with vanillas. Going a bit more mainstream isn't a bad thing. Granted the story could have been written better but I am an avid reader, so poorly written stories are just a part of it. I was rather proud of myself for finishing the first one. *my inner Goddess cheers* i will watch the movie too...eventually.

That's the way I am looking at this whole 50 Shades of Gray craze. Kink going mainstream. A lot of my "vanilla" friends, have talked a lot about 50 shades and kink in open. That's a breath of fresh air for a change.
