If condoms were sold by size in inches, women would be screwed, because for years we have been toldthat _______________________________________________________________________________ is 8 inches!!!!!!!!!!

It has been demonstrated that a condom can be pulled over one's head---so what is the issue here?

While that may be true or not (I don't know), the normal condoms are very hard to get on, and they squeeze tightly.
The larger ones are more comfortable. That's about it. It's just comfort. And fit.

But, I must repeat (since the brag issue came up), few care what penis size a guy has, especially if his brain is small. What matters is the neuronal synapses and how they fire, in both men and women.
Nobody cares, for example, about how large a woman's clit is either, or, even how large or small her breasts or buns are, if the intellect and chemistry isn't there.

If the chemistry is there, then the size doesn't matter, in either sex.
But that still doesn't explain why prophylactics are sized the very odd way they are, which is to say the normal size is too small and the large size is just a few inches above average.

I personally have never had a problem with finding a bra that fit well. My experience is typical, I would think, but not universal. There are many women who benefit from a professional bra fitting, and some women just don't fit in the standard sizes.

The problem here is probably the same as the issue with condoms, that mass production means an assumption of one size fits all.
I think the fit varies by brand more than size. Of my two partners, one is fine with the brand of condoms I buy and the other couldn't fit well in the normal or large size of that brand. So the latter tried a new brand and all was well.

You may be an exceptional size/shape that isn't comfortable in most condoms, but remember you're not all men.

Why do you keep saying few care what size a man's cock is?

Every woman I know cares. Its not the most important thing, but it's up there.

Meh, honestly I found I have a better time in general with small to average sized men. The big guys tend to think they don't need to do any work to make things pleasurable for her, just jam it in a few times until she orgasms.

And most of the people I know who insist that size matters, are men.

I'm just considering the reactions from the more staid members of society if the condom rack at the pharmacy had a prominently displayed sizing chart.

sizing chart,

I had never expected a sizing chart to exist!
Thanks for that pointer.
Looking at the chart, and bearing in mind the average penis is (roughly) 5-1/4 inches long, it looks like ALL the prophylactics were longer in length than the average penis (with about 7 inches being the shortest and a bit over 9 inches for the longest condom).

On the other hand, the circumference of all the male condoms was smaller than the average penis circumference of 4-1/2 inches.
Of course, the stuff stretches, so, I'm not sure what we can conclude from the chart, given the potential change in the comfortable zone; however, the chart does serve as a reference for which condoms are LARGER or SMALLER than the others, which is a VERY GOOD reference to have indeed.

Thanks!

Um. Do I really need to explain this to you?

Umm... I guess yes.
I'm not tall. My pants inseam is not a large number. We live in a society that highly values height for males, particularly over any one particular female. But, I still buy my jeans by the length of the inseam, even though I wish it were longer. I don't expect to purchase jeans that have no size whatsoever outlined on the label.

We buy everything else by size, and certainly condoms are an IMPORTANT item to get the size right.
The fit matters. A lot.

Given that the fit is critical, I don't see any reason that the size can't be listed on the package; but, luckily, the chart that Steel posted is perfect.

Seems to me the best way to size things is to pick one, and then, if it's too tight, then to pick one that is further down in the chart, until the goldilocks zone is found.

Thanks!

had you thought about emailing the companies and asking them?

Nope.
But, the good news is that the chart Steel referenced pretty much has all the missing information, in one fell swoop!

I agree. The lack of ANY sizing information on most condom packages bolsters the (wholly incorrect) assumption that one size fits all.

Hmmmmmm... that makes things more complicated than the simple chart that Steel referenced, which is size-by-brand.

If you're saying fit-by-brand is the key, then we don't have that information.

I don't disagree with you, based on my experience.
A man can never lead with penis size any more than a woman can lead with her breasts.
There must be substance to the person, and, that is what gets the clothes off either one.

Once the clothes are off, it really doesn't matter anymore, from my experience, as the PERSON is the focus, not the parts.

Aside; Of course, sexual objectification always works in the D/s sense; but even then, it's the PERSON first, objectification play later.

In general, at least with vanilla straight sex, men don't get penetrated, nor inseminated, so, being a curious sort of fellow, I've asked some of my female friends what they like about penetrative sex to climax, particularly sans condom (because they're so uncomfortable and stifling for men in the first place), and what I have heard most is that the "warm" feeling of being filled (after climax) is what they liked most.

I'm sure the mileage will vary tremendously on that one though - but - the record will show that my one set of questions has the warm fuzzy feeling (especially after climax) as the primary yummy feeling.

Of course, YMMV.

Funny you should mention that, because the ENTIRE PURPOSE of the study, according to the authors, was to create a "nomogram" so that men could purposefully compare themselves to others with respect to penis size (particularly those who feel badly about theirs would feel better afterward, according to the author's own words).

Googling for that nomogram, I find this:

This may be the simplest visual model intended for the comparison (at least if printed to life size dimensions).

I saw those graphs the other day when I was reading an article about these studies.

I didn't see cm and I saw inches and I was like WHO HAVE I BEEN BANGING?! but then I caught that cm and felt better.

13.24 inches, for average length, would be quite something, wouldn't it?

One oddity I noticed in the charts above was that "stretched flaccid" is pretty much the same as erect!

So, in essence, you Dommes can get just as much outta' a sub simply by stretching him, and not waiting for him to get hard!
