Interesting, Moloch. I'm grateful none of the listed are my Senator/s.

I don't like Hillary but I am surprised she went for this.  Boxer and Levin were a bit of a surprise too.

Notice how few there were though, the fact that the anti-gun thing is a loosing proposition is getting through.

One thing though, you don't know what other BS was tacked on to this one and they may have added some sort of poison pill.

This shouldn't even be neccessary!
Do they suspend the First Amendment during declared emergencies?
One thing for sure, there's going to be a LOT of new faces in the Senate in the next few elections after them voting for that "Amnesty" crap!
And one of my senators, Lindsey Graham is going to be out on his ass in 2008!
People are already writing articles to local newspapers about him!

It's not unusual for certain laws & statutes to be ammended or recinded during times of emergency. I was in NYC on 9/11 & believe me, police/ fire/ & rescue were not taking your rights into consideration. I think the last thing Police & or Guard Units want in an emergency situtaion is a bunch of well- meaning, but untrained & unsupervised persons running around armed. I see the wisdom in this vote. I am always somewhat confused that the "gun nuts" most pressing argument against gun control is to protect themselves from an oppressive government. This administration is the most oppressive, secretive, & disrespecting of the U.S. constitution of any in recent memory. Yet the red-state right stands by them to the end in spite of this.

I live in a "Red State" and I don't like Bush.
There are a lot of people moving here from so called blue states for many different reasons besides the low housing costs here.
You can't use stereotypes, "Red State, Blue State", "Libs, Cons"
And you only need three people to form a Militia.
I'm not a "gun nut" but I do own guns and I do have a permit to carry concealed but I don't use it all the time.
Peter, you should know that once the government starts suspending *any* right the others are in jeopardy!
I'm retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and I was very highly trained in firearms usage. A lot of my neighbors here are retired Cops of all types, locals, staties, feds.
