Funny thing,last friday night I decided I had smoked my last cigarette.....so far so good.No urges nothing.

Two weeks ago my quite understanding pain management doc advised me that he would need a clean urine from me(from time to time they check that a) you are actually taking,as opposed to maybe selling,your meds....and b) that you aren't subsidizing with illegal substances) so I've had to stop rolling my own.

My lungs won't know what to do,for decades I've been sucking in hot smoke in one form or another.....to be honest I will probably consider not picking back up the evil weed depending on my pain levels and my ability to still be hungry despite the way the meds make my stomach jumpy.

Truth be told it's like losing an old friend though....lol

Its not easy but great job for quitting. Since I quit smoking cigarettes months ago, my sense of smell has improved a lot. I do still chew nicotine gum but o well, I can live with that.

Mike have you tried the E-cigarettes yet? My X switched to them, and still bitchy...lol, but she likes them and is slowly reducing the nicotine.

Butch,it's the most amazing thing(might have something to do with the interaction of all of my other meds) but I decided Friday evening I was done....and I haven't looked back.
I'm wearing a patch but I'm considering deep sixing that too.

As for the E cig's they were suggested to me....I don't see the sense of them,I'm trying to get rid of one habit,not slide habits.

As I said so far so good no urges nothing,if that changes I guess I would consider anything,fingers crossed that isn't necessary.

I smoked for 44 years Mike. I cold turkey quit Jan. 5th 2014. Nowadays I can't stand the smell of someone smoking in a parking lot. The E cigs are just as bad. Their stench makes me ill. Beware the reformed and all that but I wish everyone would stop smoking. You can do this. It ain't easy. But you can

Thanks,the good wishes are appreciated

It's a bit funny,I've got some other medical issues going on and one doc actually suggested my plate was full,that this wasn't the time to do it(I was shocked that a medical professional would give such advice) well I saw that doc this Wednesday and felt great joy in telling him how wrong he was....lol
