And how much should each meal have assuming you are eating 3xs a day? The betty.crocker diabetic cook book has recipes with meals topping out at 278 a meal, and I don't.know, but something about that just seems to high.

Eating cholesterol doesn't cause high cholesterol levels. Carbs do.

our bodies need some of it to form the cells in our bodies eating it only provides the building blocks for the body to make it. high levels can be from family also from other intake like soda that will make the liver produce and maintain more in circulation. so the amount consumed in a day is only a guide look at your total cholesterol levels there are 4 2 good 2 bad and keep those in the good ranges

There is no safe limit. Each persons liver has different toleration levels. The British have recently revised the alcohol limit to half the previously recommended level and its the same now for both genders. 2 units a day is the recommended level now I think.

In the past the recommendation by the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) in the US was that 300mg per day was the upper limit of dietary cholesterol intake. As of 2015, they have recommended the removal of dietary limits of cholesterol in the absence of evidence to show that dietary intake of cholesterol has any effect on cholesterol levels in the body. They have concluded that dietary cholesterol is "not considered a nutrient of concern for overconsumption".
