Believe it or not, it was Reagan who PROVED Keynsian spending worked! It wasn't his tax cuts that created jobs, it was his economic stimulus!

He happened to spend it on defense, which at that time, was in a transition, which spurred new Engineering, Manufacturing, and Information Technology :)


Ignorant Republican politicians (Newt, Paul Ryan (the faux intellectual of the group), Ted Cruz, Rick Santorum) to name a few, love to bring up Reagan as an economic success, and BADLY misunderstand WHY. If they only knew.


There is definitely a real-life model for Republican economics. It is called Kansas.

Hum, my understanding was that the Reagan tax deal with the democrats actually cut defense spending 7%. I believe I posted s link to that earlier. He may have changed direction of the spending into new technology, but it wasn't a stimulus. I'm going to have to call BS on that unless you have some links.

Call BS all you want. Reagan's massive defense spending stimulated the economy. I know it, and everyone one my age in Info Tech knows it. I don't need any links... But if you want links...

I will correct one thing I said... I said that it wasn't his tax cuts that created jobs. At the middle-income level, they spurred demand. The upper end tax "cuts" were really tax (much needed) REFORM. Getting rid of the rid of the 20 different rates... The highest being a ridiculous 70% (which no one paid anyway) (coupled with getting rid of the loopholes which allowed the wealthy to avoid paying.)


In order of impact:

1) The massive economic stimulus
2) Middle class tax cuts
3) Tax Reform


Anyone who really understands economics understands this. Anyone who was working in IS, or Engineering at that time very well understands this (or should).

Whether or not he intended it as a stimulus, he and Obama have proved Krugman right.

I'd have to say that most of those perceptions are based from propaganda. In fact I remember members of the congressional black caucus spouting how they were spat upon and called the N word as they had to get through a Tea Party rally to get to work. Someone put up a cash $1,000,000 reward for anyone bringing a video, or any other proof, of that actually occurring. It hasn't been collected yet but a lot of videos have shown up showing union thugs being bussed in to cause trouble at Tea Party rally's.

Believe me, nobody is more disappointed in Republicans getting into office and acting like liberals than me. I've emailed the RNC and told them I will never vote for another Bush. I hope other Republicans do the same.

My news is filtered??? How would you know??? I hope you are not implying that I am a person who "begins to see the conservative side". IMO, there are two kinds of ideas: Good ones (based on facts, and sound judgement and reasoning), and bad ones (which lack those qualities).

Some ideas could be labelled "liberal", some could be labelled "conservative". There are good ideas and bad ideas in both camps. Most good ideas end up being centrist.


And BTW: Out of curiosity... What would you consider to be an UNFILTERED news source???? I am very curious to know!

And also BTW: I had forgotten about the racism charges and dismissed them years ago.

My news is filtered??? How would you know??? I hope you are not implying that I am a person who "begins to see the conservative side". IMO, there are two kinds of ideas: Good ones (based on facts, and sound judgement and reasoning), and bad ones (which lack those qualities).

Some ideas could be labelled "liberal", some could be labelled "conservative". There are good ideas and bad ideas in both camps. Most good ideas end up being centrist.


And BTW: Out of curiosity... What would you consider to be an UNFILTERED news source???? I am very curious to know!

And also BTW: I had forgotten about the racism charges and dismissed them years ago.







My statement about your news being filtered is solely from your statements about your knowledge of the ?Tea Party. It was general in nature and I'll accpet a rebuff if you say it's warranted.

I saw my first congressman bribed in 1987. It was $35,000 back then. I've seen a lot since and I know it's not on the news so can't direct you to any perfect news source. But, I can see, not with you, when people are using passion instead of knowledge in arguments and that gets my dander up. In those cases I mistreat them exactly as they treat me, as I'm treating you now. In your case with respect. But, most liberals don't getting because they don't offer it. I love to watch how liberal's act when I treat them exactly how they treat me. Theyre shocked usually.

Can you provide a link to even one specific constructive Tea Party idea? I looked at http://www.teaparty-ideas.com/ and found a bunch of platitudes, and ill-informed nonsense.

I know! Maybe my browser is filtered too! It is filtering out those well considered, well-informed, thoughtful Tea Party ideas!

I don't know. What are you going to accept? Smaller government, more in control,of people rather than corporations, more aligned with the constitution is fine with me. But, liberals hate that, or they wouldn't be voting for Hilary. What would you accept as reasonable?
