Hunter, I feel for you. It's clear that the man chose the wrong party in which to pursue his political career. We get that this side of the pond, too. :-(

Depends. Are human rights a family value

quote:

A prominent supporter of President Barack Obama and co-founder of the Human Rights Campaign was arrested last week on charges of sodomy and sexual abuse related to what authorities said was an encounter with a juvenile male.

Terrence Bean, 66, a major Democratic donor and a celebrated gay-rights activist, was indicted on two felony charges of sodomy and a misdemeanor count of sexual abuse by a grand jury and arrested in Oregon Wednesday, according to a statement from the Portland Police Bureau. Bean was released later that day on bail, pending a court hearing...

I suppose that if you feel you need a very narrow definition of "values" and such things in order to prove to yourselves that are not total hypocrites, you will go ahead and paint it any colour you like and completely disregard what is logical and makes sense

You tell me if human rights are a family value, Sanity. I'm unfamiliar with the Bible and have little idea of what fine upright Christian Bible supporters and kiddie-fiddling criminals like Josh Duggan consider to be the values we should all be upholding. I'm even less aware of how they consider their values to be 'logical' and 'make sense'. Perhaps you could help me on these questions?

Ah, you see Peon. It's not paranoid to ask you to go first. Here, first the sandbag question:
quote:

Has Terry Bean been a strident supporter of family values, then?

Then your response here in this post.

You often have insightful posts that contribute. But, for some reason you like this sandbag ploy.

If you are really interested in answers rather than your usual trollish stupidity, I suggest you ask this guy perhaps

U.S. Ex-President Bill Clinton (R), carrying a Bible, shakes hands wit minister Walter Shropshire, Jr. as he departs the Foundry United Methodist Church

Or this guy

As I am not a Christian

Pointed this one out earlier

(jvov originally brought it up)

No outrage about that though

Doesnt fit the narrative.

Has Terry Bean been a strident supporter of family values, then?

Apparently he had his own niche.

http://michellemalkin.com/2014/12/03/nothing-on-terry-bean/

quote:

So, who is Terry Bean? He’s a wealthy, high-flying liberal and celebrated gay-rights activist who co-founded the influential Human Rights Campaign organization. He is also a veteran member of the board of the HRC Foundation, which disseminates Common Core-aligned “anti-bullying” material to children’s schools nationwide.

It seems his family values runs to the school yard side of things.

Anti-bullying...

Seems family valuish to me

This is a very strange one.

Eons ago I was banging this gal out that was slightly under voting age. She worked at a diner and a sheriff had a hard-on for her that would not quit. One day I bump into him and he then begins reading me the riot act about underage girls, jail, blah blah blah... red face hatred with a dash of belligerence and escalating until he asked for my ID before he cuffed me, booked me, and sent me to prison. It took a strange turn when I told him I was a few years from driving age and more from voting age.

The point of this is, we are looking at what this appears to be. A grown ass man on reality tv molesting kids. The details we are not getting is he was a teenager... does that mean 19, 18, 13 or some place in between?

Since this is all about minors we are going to hear nothing but sensationalism because the truth is barred from the public. There may be enough stink stirred to get it into trial, but even then we are only going to hear a verdict, no details.

Seems Huckabee is taking a lot of heat...
https://www.facebook.com/mikehuckabee/posts/10152994543137869

Huckabee couldnt have known that a prominent politician in Arkansas had a son who is a child molester. It is as if the State Police (if not political gossip) would have alerted him to the fact.

Whats more, sticking up for the Duggans via Facebook has just blown any slim chance he had of making President, especially as he believes God makes the rules and not the Supreme Court (Huckabees words, not mine)

Then...he was a child. I'm sorry, what is this thread about? Is this about labels on families who do not vote certain way or raise their children a certain way or about children making mistakes? I agree, children make mistakes. Mine do. What about yours? But do we hold them accountable many years later? Do we hold them up as an example of a label we made up and don't fully understand?

Hmmm...look at that blue eyed baby, blonde hair, I bet she is a right wing baby, and that black one over there, that two year old something, a boy I bet, I think he is right wing too because his mother is well dressed and obviously well educated.

oh what a surprise....NOT

Arkansas police have destroyed the records of Josh Duggar's nearly decade-old molestation case.

Springdale Police spokesman Scott Lewis told the Associated Press that Judge Stacey Zimmerman ordered the 2006 offense report destroyed Thursday. Zimmerman didn't return a request for comment on Friday.

"The judge ordered us yesterday to expunge that record," Lewis said, adding that similar records are typically kept indefinitely. "As far as the Springdale Police Department is concerned this report doesn't exist."

The move came a day after the 19 Kids and Counting reality TV personality resigned his position as a lobbyist for the Family Research Council after news of sexual misconduct allegations from his teenage years surfaced.

You cant see that confessing to molestation of minors, and siblings has fuck all to do with what happened with BC? he went thru the court of public opinion....now its duggar, his family, his life that is shitting the fan up.
Huckabee specifically has come out in support AFTER pictures were taken, and suggest to "everyone" that they should forgive his "lapse of family values". he humbled himself before god....is all it takes I guess for some people...
he hasnt been charged, is unlikely to be charged, he certainly wont bee seen as punished by mere humans....
If god has forgiven him, I wonder how he is gonna explain to the innocent victims.

They're grasping at straws.

Remember what Reagan said, repubs are to NEVER diss another repub. Apparently...no matter what.

I see how you are. Like a lot of other "liberals" on here

The crimes were indeed somewhat similar. One committed his crimes as a juvenile, long ago, though. The other as an adult, and more recently. But thats not why you claim there is no comparison. Your only real criteria is party affiliation

Bill Clinton, Terrence Bean, it is literally impossible that they could have done anything wrong, because theyre Democrats

Duggar, however, has been seen in the company of "family values" Republicans. Therefore they are all worse than Hitler or Manson

No trial necessary

Really, there is no comparison between a child acting out sexually, and a grown man having sexual relations with a minor.

http://newsinhealth.nih.gov/2005/September2005/docs/01features_02.htm

Giedd, who studies brain development at NIH’s National Institute of Mental Health, explained that scientists have only recently learned more about the path of brain growth. One important finding, he said, showed that the frontal cortex area—which governs judgment, decision-making and impulse control—doesn’t fully mature until around age 25.

“That really threw us,” Giedd said. “We used to joke about having to be 25 to rent a car, but tons of industry data show that 24-year-olds are costing insurance companies more than 44-year-olds are.”
