Let me explain something to you, the only people who pay attention to the Geneva convention are the people who lose wars and the lawyers sent in to follow US troops by lefty loonies. So, using the Geneva convention to justify your hate just makes you loony as well as racist. Had Isreal wanted to they could have rolled up the entire Middle East in 1967 and kept it all. They didn't.
[snip]
So, it's your contention that the only one that has to adhere to international law is Isreal.

That is because the Jews and Israel were supposed to DIE in 1967. They are not supposed to defend themselves. What are ya, dumb or sumpin'?
,

Aylee, rather than indulging in emotive, almost hysterical language ("the Jews and Israel were supposed to DIE in 1967"), looking at the cold hard facts of historical record reveals Israel's real intentions and goals in the '67 war and in its behaviour subsequent to the war. A more dispassionate approach reveals the truth of the matter:
Israel might have a legitimate case for arguing the 1967 war was a war of self defence if either: (a) it confined itself to protecting its then-existing borders rather than its actual strategy of aggressive expansion; or (b) it withdrew from lands conquered in the 1967 subsequent to hostilities ceasing. It did neither. Instead it occupied the lands it conquered and only withdrew from Sinai after another war and peace treaty with Egypt. Israel still occupies the West Bank today, refusing to cede it to its rightful owners and as we all know is colonising the West Bank as rapidly as it can. So the argument that Israel's 1967 war was a war of self defence fails, it is incompatible with the historical record and the facts on the ground that we can all see today.

OTOH: If we consider that facts that; (a) Israel by its own admission initiated hostilities; (b) according to Miko Peled, son of Israeli '67 war hero Gen Peled, the Israeli Defence Forces' (IDF) assessment was that the Arab armies in 1967 were "18-24 months [away from] battle readiness" and (c) Israeli post-war actions, behaviour and goals all indicate that there never has been any intention to withdraw from the West Bank. Thus it is crystal clear that the facts are all consistent with the 1967 war being a war of aggression by Israel with the intention of territorial expansion.

No amount of pro-Zionist spin, abuse or name calling or red herrings (hysterical or those of a less neurotic nature) can alter the facts or withstand scrutiny informed by the historical record, and dispassionate reason. The 1967 was an unambiguous war of aggression by Israel, sadly one of many wars of aggression launched by that ultra-aggressive terrorist racist State.

Returning to the point of this thread - the growing Boycott Sanction and Divestment (BDS) :

The EU is reviving a proposal to force Israel to brand goods produced in the colonies/'settlements' separately to those produced in Israel proper. The EU is specifically pointing towards Israeli intransigence in the peace process, as well as its disapproval of the illegal colonisation/'settlement' of Occupied Palestine as the reasons for this initiative. An earlier proposal had been shelved pending the outcome of the last round of peace talks, which were sabotaged by Israel.

From today's Sydney Morning Herald:
"Israel would be required to label products that are made in West Bank settlements and exported to Europe, according to guidelines being prepared by the European Union.
The move is the latest sign of international discontent with Israeli construction of settlements on occupied lands claimed by the Palestinians, as well as frustration over the bleak state of Middle East peace efforts.
It also comes as a grassroots movement promoting boycotts, divestment and sanctions against Israel appears to be gaining steam.

http://www.smh.com.au/world/eu-moves-ahead-on-labelling-of-israeli-settlement-products-20150610-ghkfcx.html

It is expected that European consumers will take advantage of the new labelling guidelines to take the boycott of Israel's illegal colonies/'settlements' to new heights, hitting Israel hard in the pocket as well as giving encouragement to West Bank Palestinians suffering under Israel's toxic ethnic cleansing and apartheid. That the EU is prepared to take such action ought to give notice to Israelis to come to their senses before it's too late to stop a South African style boycott, a boycott that was instrumental in bringing down apartheid there. I do hope it has this positive effect.

Careful there with posting a few pertinent fact Tweakable. You will get labelled racist by those who insist Semites are not a race (More hypocrisy).

It must gall them to see the facts posted time after time so they resort to bullshit links, and red herrings etc, all the time avoiding the issue.

Prescient words indeed.

It must be so very painful for them to be unable to challenge a single fact or analysis. The latest contribution by the ever dwindling pro-Zionist camp is a truly pitiful three words of false and abusive snark.

Hardly a surprise tho' - it's a big ask for them to justify aggressive wars of territorial expansion, and/or an ongoing brutal military occupation that features ethnic cleansing and apartheid. I'd choose silence every time rather than attempting to justify that toxic litany of criminality.

Orange chief apologizes to Israeli premier

""We are doing business, we are doing communication, we are here to connect people, certainly not to participate in any kind of boycott. Israel is a fantastic place to be in the digital industry and of course our will is to strengthen and to keep on investing here," he said."

Not surprised that one went way over your head

Try this one on for size

Your go-to propaganda source won an award

It was a landslide.

HonestReporting readers were asked to choose this year’s Dishonest Reporting Award, and they spoke out — with a vengeance we haven’t seen for nominations in previous years. Read about the winners in ten other categories on the Dishonest Reporting Awards main page.

In comments on our web site, our Facebook community, 2011 Dishonest Reporting Awards
and in emails, accusations of anti-Semitism turned the heat up on an annual discussion normally about imbalanced stories, spin games, and journalistic naivete.

“The Guardian, for sure.”

“Nobody comes even close to their level of plain antisemitism.”

“. . . they seem to have a consistent system of bashing Israel. “

“Al-Guardian has to win; it’s almost impossible to be more biased than it is.”

The Guardian’s skewed news and commentary have a wide reach. In May alone, its web site drew in 50 million unique readers.

This paper systematically dislikes Israel. The sheer volume of The Guardian’s deliberately vicious output in 2011 necessitated a top 10 list of reasons it deserves the 2011 Dishonest Reporting Award.

The really painful thing is to be so young, so ignorant and so full of hate and racism that nobody wants to be around you other than other haters. Why would any body stop on the street and debate with a preaching KKK member. I'm sure that leaching KKK person goes home each night and reaffirms to himself that nobody could refute his ideas.

Antisemite Isreal bashing would feel comfortable with Tweaka. She wouldn't realize the hate, she'd feel companionship.

mnottertail -> RE: Netanyahoo labels BDS a "strategic threat" (6/12/2015 8:15:33 AM)

So rightwing propagandists are emotionally demonizing a newspaper, absent of any fact, just based on their feebleminded rightwing myrmidons hallucinating emotionally over their ideological dialog not fitting actual facts?

And is this more shocking or intelligent than saying, "The whale is undoubtably one of the largest mammals alive today." ?

My! And such an unbiased representative group too. From wiki:

"HonestReporting (also Honest Reporting or honestreporting.com) is a pro-Israel,[1][2] non-governmental organization that monitors the media for what it perceives as bias against Israel."
HonestReporting says of itself that it is "an organization dedicated to defending Israel against prejudice in the Media"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HonestReporting#cite_note-3

Asking Zionist fanatics to evaluate a newspaper that is often critical of Israel, and expecting anyone to take the outcome seriously is an exercise in stupidity and futility. I should ask you to produce something from a body that is non-aligned, unbiased or objective. Though I have no reason to believe you understand the meaning of the terms, if you feel you can please feel free.

Here is something to read that is far more productive and relevant:
