Hasn't happened in years, Lucy. It may have last happened in 2008, but in '09, it was about 9,200, and it's been going down ever since (the UCR only goes back to 2009 on this table).

No identification of how the guns were gained, but in 2013, about 300 kids, 16 years old or younger, were killed with a gun (not counting any that fell into the "unidentified age" category). That is how many were killed by a gun, with nothing identifying the age of the trigger puller.

Homicides have dropped the past number of years, and most of the methods of killing have also dropped (some have gone up in small numbers, by raw numbers).

Where did most firearm homicides occur in 2013? California is #1. Then Texas (about 60% of CA), then PA and MI tied, Georgia, Illinois, NY, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Ohio rounds out the "Top" 10. CA had over 1200 firearm homicides, and TX had 760. Ohio had 309. The rest had under 300 total.

I was asking him specifically, but thanks for the back up data, unfortunately, theres little chance of change.
And I dont mean in the numbers, I hope they continue to go down...it really doesnt help the families of the victims either way
