Happy Father's day to you. How did you celebrate?

My girl works doubles on the weekend. After travel time to work, she gets about 5 1/2 hours sleep between shifts. So we didn't have much time. She got dressed in a nice animal print nighty and we had a wonderful breakfast feast with a bottle of bubbly Moscato and a gift bag full of presents. We feasted on a cheese omelet, hash brown, sausage balls, fresh veggie juice, coffee in a press (for me), tea (for her), yogurt, fruit salad (for her), cottage cheese-tomato-cucumber salad sprinkled with dill (for me) and waffles with berries. Waaaaaaay too much food. The dog was thrilled about all the leftovers though!

I got 3 cards. 2 from the slave and 1 from the dog. A cute card to daddy from his little girl, a wonderfully romantic card to Master from his slave wife. I got a card for each of the "hats" I wear in our relationship. The husband/wife thing is an extention of the M/s relationship so they are the same hat. And I got funny card to dad from the dog. It has a picture of a dog with it's head out the car window and says, "You're so much more than a dad . . . you're a playmate who can open the fridge and drive with the windows down". The dog bought me a comfy new pair of Old Friend slippers that have a dog logo on them. The slave got me some personal grooming items I wanted, an electric face cleansing brush and an electric Pedi Perfect. Now I got power tools for personal grooming!!!

Aw what a nice post RS.

I'm about 2000 miles away from my dad but I spent an hour on the phone with him. Usually we have a fifteen minute conversation every few weeks, but last week his health took a sudden turn and I think he is feeling his mortality. I know I am (feeling his mortality), and not to be a downer but today I thought about how few Fathers Days we may have left. He is 86 and just out of the hospital from another pulmonary embolism.

We aren't emotionally close but I love him very much. I've a lot of good memories of him from my childhood, and even though we've such distance between us physically/emotionally I'm glad he is my dad.

I got him a hardcover book and a large tin of popcorn from Harry & David. Along with a card.

I took The Man out to dinner at a fish place. He had wanted swordfish but that wasn't available. So he had some wild salmon.
Then we went to see Love & Mercy, the Brian Wilson biopic. It was not at all what we thought it would be. Honestly, it was weird and both too damned long as well as having too many holes in the story line.

I celebrated with my son. Father's day is a great day for all the dads that are actually there. For my son, he celebrates it with me because as far as he's concerned I pull double duty. We had a lovely BBQ, and he helped me out in the garden even though he'd been at work all day. My son realises that there is much more to being a father than being a sperm donor, or being male. It works both ways though, because on mother's day there will be guys that have been pulling double duty too :-)

I bought my Step-Father, whom I call the Dadman, a really nice pocket watch to replace his old one that died a while ago. He works in a machine shop so a wrist watch is pretty much out of the question. It has his initials engraved on the front of it and a message engraved on the back that says "You're the best Dadman there has ever been!" It came in a really nice wooden box that is engraved with the message "Happy Father's Day 2015 Dadman! Love, *my real name*" . He absolutely loves it :-).
