For me it's "master" or "Sir". He doesn't want me to pepper my sentences with those words, the idea is not to re-enact "Full Metal Jacket" but a certain level of formality is required. Actually I once managed to just steer clear of a serious punishment because I was talking too familiar! "Hey, master!" is okay when I'm in his good graces, nudging him in the ribs at the same time is certainly not. He usually does not call me by my name, do this do that etc., when he says, "Danny come here" that means that I'm about to have fun. Or "Dannyboy" or just "boy" as in "On your knees boy!" When he says "Daniel" that means I'm in trouble.
