Late to the game and stating the obvious but I'd like to ask the OP if he's looked at any profiles on the site at all. First thing I did was look at other profiles to see what the good ones looked like and what the bad ones looked like. I understand not posting a face/body pic so let's table that and ask what are you looking for in the other person. Remember that, a dominant isn't just a dominant. They are a person. Quite aside from that just chasing after anyone seems like a way to get in real trouble real fast.

That aside I'm lovin' the jokes you brought to this thread ChatteParfaitt! Brava!

I must admit, I also was expecting a fat joke or three!

I am new to this particular site, but not to the BDSM scene or FetLife - I must admit, I have found some "interesting" people here. I find the comparison with FetLife a little odd though. FL is a social network, not a "find a partner" site. It's like comparing Facebook with PlentyOfFish.
It's too early really for me to judge whether CS is a "fat joke". I think everywhere you will find scams, fakes and idiots. I've certainly come across quite a few in my short time here, but any site which is free to join is naturally going to attract more than a pay site.
As others have said though, you have to give something to receive. I've come across a lot of profiles with no information on them - which is no use to anyone. Almost as bad are the ones which just complain about people or make sweeping generalisations about all men. I have to laugh at the ones that say "If you're x y z you're not a "true" Dom".
That's why the "Hide User" button exists though, right?
