To be made love to with a whip, a can, a spanking can be some of the most intimate areas of play in D/s.. i adore it, even crave it. However (isn't there always a catch?) my job requires me to wear a swim suit to work so i can't be left *too* marked without upsetting my 'vanilla' life..... does anyone have suggestions as to methods, tools, or after care to decrease the marks? I tend to bruise exceptionally easily.

Arnica Montana (both the supplements and the cream) is very effective in shortening the duration of bruises....it does not however, prevent them.

I heard somewhere that wearing pantyhose during a beating will lessen bruising. Something about how it holds the flesh... Ugg though, huh?

I've also heard that about Arnica; that it helps with what is already bruised.

Perhaps more vitamines C and E? They both have to do with the construction and health of blood vessels and capilaries and such...

Ice may also help minimize bruising. There are a lot of threads on this with ideas. You can find them by doing a search for bruises or bruising and change the options to topics and subjects.

Vitamin K is claimed to also work fabulous. Arnica cream. I feel off a ladder in October of last year. Had the worst contusion of my life on my left butt cheek.
Nothing really seemed to help it. I took everything everyone ever recommended. Though, I'm thinking it was probably too large of a bruise for anything to really help.
To this day the area is still elevated 1/4th of an inch. So, perhaps it was just too badly bruised.

Once the bruise is older regular massage can make it clear up faster. Rub it in all directions a few times a day. DO NOT massage a new bruise or one that is black or dark purple.

i have threaded about this before. But i have found that taking extra vitamon E and A&D helps tremendously with my bruises.Also the lotions that have the vitamins in them help.

Immediate pressure with ice always helped me, otherwise Ben Nye body makeup is waterproof and hides even the worst bruises lol.

Exactly right ... BUT Vit K is not going to be readily available OTC ... it is used to cause blood to clot & can cause big problems. But Vit K Cream or Ointment was developed by/for plastic surgeons to get rid of bruising after nose jobs & boob jobs. It'll cut bruise resolution time in 1/2. It's pricey & you'll have to do a search to find it w/o a prescription.

You should NOT use it if you are taking coumadin, warfarin, or if you have a blood clotting problem of any sort. Probably worst would be if you have polycythemia or deep vein thrombosis.
