But there seems to be a more or less general attempt, probably not ill-considered, to keep things calm and avoid feeding into fears that could stoke the potential for backlash. K.

I know a cavil is noisome, but searching the Reuters site from your search, I dont get hits: tami chappell Austrians snapping up shotguns as thousands of Mideast refugees enter country looking at simply Tami Chappell Austria, I get hits, but no article akin to that. Lincoln once famously said, "Don't believe half of what you see, and nothing you read on the internet". Color me skeptical. Particularly since Tam doesnt really show her puss on the british(?) video.
