So... you say it's not a Tor problem.
That may be technically correct (it's the exit nodes, not Tor itself).
But, the fact that Tor is pretty much the only browser that is using them, makes it a Tor problem.
The Tor browser needs to use them in a different way so that Captcha isn't invoked.

No other browsers are suffering - so Tor needs to do something different.
Either that, or use a different method to get your security.

This site, like many others, is run on a shoestring, so don't expect anything to be done about it any time soon.
There are more important things to be worrying about than one particular minority browser accessing the site.
If it was a major browser, such as IE, FF, Opera, or Chrome, they might invest some resources in fixing it.
For those minority users using Tor, they have to make a choice.
Either use something else, or don't use the site.

And as far as broadcasting all your personal info to the world, whilst technically correct, isn't quite so much of a problem for the average user.
Those wanting your info can do that just as easily whether you use VPN's, SSL, Tor, or any other encryption available to Mr Joe Average computer user.
So as far as that is concerned, it's pretty tantamount to scaremongering because you aren't exactly posting it up in bright neon lights outside of your house.
WiFi security (or lack of), I understand.
That's why I don't ever use a wireless connection. Ever.

And while I agree that using SSL would be a major step up for security, there are literally millions of sites out there that are unsecured and for the majority of users, using them is not a problem.

@All

Too far off topic, and LOTS of complaints. I'm going to start deleting, when I get the chance.

@crumpets

If you want to talk about security and your lack of patience with it, please do it in the thread you created. Don't burden others looking for different content here.

Thank you.

They seem to have DELETED that thread.
So, there is no place to discuss it except here.

Actually, they seem to have done "something", but it's hard to tell.
Anyway, as you noted, there would far less need for VPN or TOR if the site simply implemented basic SSL encryption.

Back on topic ... what's important for this thread is to UNDERSTAND the model that exists.
Most people have only proposed the model that they would LIKE to exist.
That's fine (it's wishful thinking).

Most people have proposed a solution also.
That's also fine - but - it's doomed to failure (because it doesn't address the root cause of the problem).

And, the root cause of the problem is NOT (only) that (some) men are creeps.
The root cause of the long-standing creeper problem is a tad more complex than that.

The root cause, by the way, just like the Captcha problem, isn't really all that undecipherable, but, just like most cellphone-restriction laws are based on what amounts to intuitive urban myths, most of the ideas proposed here to solve the creeper problem are likewise [IMHO] misapplied efforts.

I suggest you simply put me on HIDE.
That would make everyone have to wade through far fewer replies on my part to your incorrect "issues".

@crumpets

Whatever others may decide, this is not the place to continue your crusade.

Fast reply>

Due to mitigating circumstances, I'm going back into hiding. I'll be staying with Blondie (if she'll have me) for a few days.

This is the part where I'm glad I live in America. Creepers may lurk everywhere but they tend to be far more selective on who they stalk. Most cases of rape are perpetrated by someone the victim knows. They have had time to study you. They know your patterns, they may know more about you than you your self. Advice.... If you think someone is creeping change your patterns. Leave for work early, stop somewhere random on the way home. Note unusual cars parked in the street. If you live in the states buy and learn how to use a gun safely. There are many classes one can take. If you're against guns at least pretend you just bought one. Post it on facebook and other social media. Avoid getting cornered alone somewhere. There are many things one can do to make themselves look less like easy prey. Now nothing is guaranteed but the best one can do is make it harder for would be predators. Men can get mugged just as easy as a woman. Sometimes even easier. We're men we think I'm a man I'm not scared to take a shortcut through that alley, or at a gas station in not so civil parts of town I've seen men pull out their was of cash to impress the pretty clerk behind the counter. That's an open invite to any would be predator. Follow me home I got cash, pistol whip me once I've disabled my alarm rape my wife and take what you want...
I've had a girl here try to get me to come to her house instead of meeting her in public. Either she is retarded or it was a guy waiting on some horny fuck to jump on the offer just to get mugged. I'm pretty sure it was a guy since he refused to verify his pic. When traveling try not to act like you would in your home country. It makes you look like a tourist and tourists have money. Blend in as much as possible "do as the Romans do". I've been to many countries and I must say American tourists are the worst. Few of them have respect for local culture and generally make asses of themselves which could paint a red target on your back. If you're on vacation alone make friends at the hotel and venture out with them don't go out alone! Most victims make themselves a target unknowingly. Rape has little to do with how a woman dresses or behaves although the aggressors tend to use it as an excuse. It all boils down to how vulnerable you seem to them.

It's almost impossible to even log in, let alone post, so I'm pretty much done with CollarSpace/CollarChat (LucyLastic will be happy!), but I just had to steel myself to jump through the hoops to point out this related (disappointing) news I just read in the Washington Post today, which shows that even highly professional marketing teams contribute to the rape culture when it comes to advertising their product.

  • What a creepy Bloomingdale’s ad tells us about America’s understanding of rape.
  • Bloomingdale’s Holiday Ad Blatantly Suggests Rape and People are Outraged.

    Actually no..because I disagree with you vehemently on a few things doesnt mean I encourage you to leave.
    I merely pointed out (cynically)your irritation about the capture, and you not understanding why women get irritated when you used the slut/whore meme.

    LadyPact -> RE: Don't be a creeper (12/18/2015 11:50:56 AM)

    I will say thank you for posting the links. (I had a little trouble with speed getting them to load but I think that's the pop up blocker trying to do it's job.)

    Personally, I have to say that I don't know what Bloomingdale's was thinking. I'm a little dumbfounded. How many decades now have we been having to warn people not to leave their drinks unattended?

    Yet, catch the comments that are at the bottom of the page of the third link.

    LadyConstanze -> RE: Don't be a creeper (12/18/2015 12:24:36 PM)

    I can't believe the incredible bad taste, aren't there enough people who's drinks have been spiked?

    Somehow I have the sneaky suspicion that there is a job as art director going in their ads department
