Investigators now believe that what initially seemed a workplace shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., was a well-planned attack by a married couple with at least some contact with Islamic extremists.

To vote against restricting guns to those on terrorist watch lists shows how so much American "logic" works.. just makes ya shake yer head in amazement...

I actually do think the attack was more of a workplace violence situation.. Imo, there was some trigger at the party that caused the male to instigate the attack at that time, but I also think that perhaps they had plans for a much different, bigger attack in mind so maybe if they had waited instead, the death toll & damage could have been greater.. They were certainly planning an attack, but was this one what they originally planned?

You do know that the ACLU has filed suit to get rid of the no fly list because it equates suspicion with conveiction don't you?

To me it makes no difference the reason... it still, at the roots, is the proliferation of killing weapons. What happened to all your gun carrying compatriots? Why didn't they take out the gunmen?

Any mass killing is a terrorist act ...what possible difference does it make if they are ISIS...or anti-government nuts... or anti-abortion or healthcare or racists? 14 people are dead and maybe more...What will it take for you to agree we have a gun problem in this country? Butch

We don't have a gun problem. We have a people problem!

I agree. Why cant I drunk drive? I havent killed anyone.

But you have made a huge argument in favor of shooting any nutsucker who talks about voter id, or muslim bashing or doesnt shoot any self described christian conservative who is white that has a gun.

Nice to see you bring senselessness to the forum...again.

using texting as an "argument" was senseless.
they didnt ban cell phones, they banned using them to text while driving..

By your way of thinking, then, we don't need to ban or restrict having a gun of any kind, any place, any time. Just ban shooting someone with it...and since we already have a law to that effect, we don't need any other laws (past, present or future) regarding ownership or possession of guns.

Do you feel joe/jane citizen should be allowed to own a 155mm pack howitzer? An f18 with missles and cannon? A nuclear weapon?

I do have a bit of garage space left but I'm not sure Dillon has a reloading press for that caliber.

A 155mm, like a cop is too heavy to carry around, so I will stick with my .45.

Just as well: I imagine the recoil is a bit more with the 155mm.

No... we have a PEOPLE with GUNS problem.

Butch

As most (if not all) of the mass shootings have taken place in supposed gun-free zones, one could argue we have a problem with people who lack a means of self defense (which would include a firearm). At least that's what some sheriffs seem to think.

kdsub -> RE: Shooting in California (12/7/2015 7:32:08 PM)

That may make sense if it were not for the fact that more people are killed and maimed by suicide and accidents with guns each year than all the mass shootings put together...ever..in one year alone. So the more guns the more deaths period. If deaths are what we want reduced then it will not be by more guns and no gun free zones.

Far and away that number is suicides. Look at Japan to see how the lack of firearms ends sucides. As for accidents how many times do we have to remind you that of all the things in the home that can kill you it is less likely to be a firearm than anything. Also of all these things only firearm accidents are going down. Of course you know this because I have linked it to you as have others.

kdsub -> RE: Shooting in California (12/7/2015 7:48:19 PM)

Did you read what I said again...lol go back and read with your eyes open.
And should we not do what we can to prevent things in our homes from killing us...we have thousands of government workers trying to do just that with regulations on goods...services up the butt.

Do we really want government deciding what should or should not be in our homes?

kdsub -> RE: Shooting in California (12/7/2015 7:57:46 PM)

Yes... unless you like a good dose of food poisoning or shocked out of your sneakers when your electric razor falls in the sink...etc...etc...ect.

hmmm maybe your kids would like a diet of lead

And you believe government prevents an electric razor from falling into a sink?

Laws make you have ground fault receptacles to be lawful.... keeps you from being fried.

Unlike a cop it does not require donuts to operate.[:D]
