LadyPact -> RE: How Long Do Scam Profiles Last? (12/18/2015 2:04:09 PM)

OP, I honestly don't know the answer to your question. I can honestly say if I was the type of person who was using this method to get other people's money, it would make sense to keep doing it until it no longer worked. From your post, you are very specifically saying that it works on some people because you've paid several times. In other words, you've helped to create the market that you are complaining about. Please take the advice of attending events in your local community. OK. That's my bit to abide by forum guidelines. (Answering the original first.) Now for the part that was actually interesting. quote:
ORIGINAL: WickedsDesire Scams are very common they occur across all websites: I will save this document rather than having to type out variants all time. Few people read TOC but they are quite brief here, so if you 5 minutes to spare *dear readers have a look* Hey, if you're doing this in the effort to save yourself time and/or help other folks, might I suggest you add a link regarding common scams on the internet? Could be helpful. quote:
1. $200 is she made of gold. If she was actually a pro Domme booking a session, depending on location and range of experience, it wouldn't be an unheard of rate. quote:
2. Scams come in many formats: if I was married and my other half didn’t know I was here and I lied to those I talked too about that – that is also a scam. It can be extrapolated to including, using someone else’s pictures (not just the hot lesbian fake profiles on here and there that do it – most of these are men btw) cheating on the side, lying about location and age are more grey areas and used for a little anonymity. Just don't go making the mistake between the 'secret' and those who are poly. There are some of us around who are poly and the spouse is either also a member here or aware of the activities. I'd also ask you to take note that it's *not* a good idea for all members to have their correct location on their profile. I'll refer you to the stalker thread to see why that might be the case for some members. quote:
3. Pro-dommes on here I don’t really search but 50% plus are fake and often easy to spot. Being as I don't search female profiles, I can't say much about this one. quote:
4. Legitimate ones, as there are a few, some I like some I do not. But all of them will have zillions of time wasters. So if they have a cost of a small donation to charity to speak to them and how they operate, I think that is good idea I have to say I've gotten to the point where I agree with this for some people. It's not my method but I can see why it would be good for some people to employ. quote:
5. If they have a wish list to speak to them or require cash from the very beginning – avoid them all. A small donation to a charity is acceptable. I hear the wishlist is a big thing now. I still think this is funny because I seem to be one of the folks without one. quote:
6. Can you call this number costs 1 billion bars of gold per minute – avoid all of them It surprises me this has to be said. Might want to mention NiteFlirt and the others in particular. quote:
7. Pre recorded avoid – they just paid some poor smuch or asked a friend or part of the gang 8. I lost my passport, my medical bills, my mum needs cash preferably gold 9. Anyone asking you to wire them cash 10. You have won/inherited 100 muffins to collect/release your delicious bounty please pay cash All of these should be under the 'avoiding common scams' page. quote:
Fake profiles in conjunction with stolen pictures sometimes they really really annoy me. Some have been on all sites for years, some even mods on other sites. They annoy me because they exploit genuine innocent vulnerable people for cash or attention The highlighted above is a bit misleading in terminology. Anybody can create a group on Fet and be a Mod. The term doesn't equate to what it would be to be a Mod here. quote:
This site has verified yourself – featured – a good idea as is curtails on well over half of the fake profiles. Fet pof okc do not have a verification system – odd i always thought. Not all genuine souls can verify themselves with their face in a picture..but they can do so easily with all the rest. Yeah. Some of us just do this the old fashioned way. Really sick, perverted stuff like go to events and meet for dinner. Twisted, I know. quote:
Collar does not allow blacklisting – reasons are complex but I think for fake profiles with stolen pictures they should I actually side with the policy on this one. Do you realize how many idiots out there try to tell women that unless they "prove they're real" by getting on webcam and showing their tits, the men will threaten to report them as fake? That's a scam, too, so if you want to be fair across the board about scams, you can't skip ones like that. quote:
I think that all I have to say on the matter, and you cannot name names on forums…and personally I’ve no idea what the report button does on here, or fet etc If you were specific about which report button, there are folks here who could tell you. quote:
My own personally choice no matter the site to talk to me in depth they need to verify themselves to me via Skype whatsapp viber and include a variety of pictures…not kik ffs..although once they verify themselves I am happy to talk on the platform of there choosing. I don't do a lot of profile reading but I am surprised how many of the folks seem to have kik. I'm guessing it's another one of those things that I'm better off without. quote:
Additional Scam definitions Married and fibbing to someone & partner about that detail easily 50% on all sites – tinder I see quotes about 37% hmmm, actually the highest rate is on a swingers site – bizarre is it not. Followed by sex, then, fetish sites, okc, then pof. Interesting. I'd love to read the links on this. Would you be willing to share the reference material? quote:
What if I was attached and omitted that fact..you get the drift. Personally I will talk to married and attached people. I prefer to know at the beginning. O personally my mails, or replies to mail can be a bit blunt for the first few till iam reasonable sure they are who and what they say…but that is my approach – perceived as blunt/rude by many – who are usually iffy. Yeah. Can't say I blame you on this. I don't do email in most cases. Person I already know, person that knows somebody face to face in common that I already know, and that kind of thing. The rest I delete unread. quote:
Dommes are rare on any site – I will reword that better – 24/7 is a net myth invented by bad/ill read stereotypes – yes that is better. Less than 1% actually seek that. Fanatsing about it is fine I couldn't say about the site or the seeking part. Know quite a few FLR in real life that are married, so I can't really say the concept is a myth. quote:
For ever one genuine girl on here, or that other place & alt too I rejoined after 10 years to see if things had improved(I will not pay) there are – 25 guys – how many of them are probably genuine 25% at most. Worse ratio of swingers sites Ashley Madison(imo) I think it depends on if a person focuses on local groups on Fet. I can't say I understand why anybody is still on ALT. Ashley Madison, while I don't think much of the concept, is pretty much what the site is/was for. I was always under the impression that was the deal behind PoF, too. quote:
Competition is tough. But many people come onto sites all hopeful and thinking everyone is genuine and who and what they say – they are not at fault – but they should open their eyes just a little. I can't argue with this. quote:
Your predicament no matter the site 1. Pro domes should have their own section and a rigorous verification system. 2. Users should be able to verify themselves by face or appendage different verification systems I'm not big on that first part. It's almost like treating pros like second class citizens. Do you realize how many pros out there are the ones contributing to the education of the real time community? A lot of them used to be members here. Not huge on the second part, either. There's already enough folks who are willing to out people. We don't need to be making that problem worse. quote:
Anyway were you looking for a domme – or a pro domme? Switches and submissives can also have those qualities about them in part There's no label from the drop down menu that assures anybody of anything. If you're really wanting to give folks advice about this (which is a nice thing) you might want to cover all of the bases.
