MistressHantsUK -> Celebrity Members on CS (1/10/2016 5:28:35 AM)

What do others think ?? Why do some feel the need to either in their handle or the list line of a profile or both mention they are famous ?? Surely this is not about their public life but about their private needs. Yes I am sure people from every walk of life endulge and enjoy the pleasures (and pains) of a healthy domination based relationships. Personally I would rather read a well thought out profile than a few lines claiming to be a celebrity hence unable to send any proof... By mentioning so called celebrity status dont they realise they will attract the resident nutters ??

Really? Doing that sounds like it would be a blackmail magnet to me =|

FR: It depends on how one is defining "celebrity" I suppose.

BDSM celebrities?
We have authors and established bloggers here.
For quite awhile the one of the authors of The Loving Dominant, John Warren was here. (I am not sure about Libby, his wife).

The nicks with a famous celebrity as part of their name?
More than likely, there is no connection between them and the person whose famous name they are using.

Edit to add: I think there are many more BDSM celebrities over at Fetlife.

In regards to authors, who often publish under pseudonyms anyway, it can be a way to promote their work. On my FB groups they often show up to promote their books. Of course it's topic related and vanilla but those who write BDSM literature are already saying: I'm kinky and proud of it lol.

SlavePusskins -> RE: Celebrity Members on CS (1/10/2016 11:06:39 AM)

Even the resident nutters would not fall for the celebrity scam!

padrepedro -> RE: Celebrity Members on CS (1/12/2016 6:16:51 AM)

Excuse me please! I am sorry to interject. Who are the resident nutters please? I would like to avoid them.

Are you talking on the forum side or the Profile side of CS?

CodeOfSilence -> RE: Celebrity Members on CS (1/12/2016 12:59:29 PM)

On the related topic of celebrities into kink. What celebrities are into it that aren't too obvious (such as Madonna and Robin Williams RIP ) .

Angelina Jolie, too obvious?
I wonder if Donald Trump and his hair get into some nasty business when nobody is looking.

Avoid shiny objects.

WickedsDesire -> RE: Celebrity Members on CS (1/13/2016 9:58:50 AM)

Avoid shiny objects. Someone loan me some kindling wood. Well, depends why you are saying that is it a metaphor, analogy, metaphysical eg like avoid that which seems too good to be true, or stereotypical folderol. Hmm or you a sentient cat seeking to gain a monopoly and control of my marvellous tinfoil collection, shiny bobbles that hang from trees, etc.

Jon warren me heard off (namme wise), when a particular mad ct (shiny object) aint footing me of that other site. For me saying oh why is that shiny object using someone else’s pictures at ctshineyobject?, lying talking dangerous stereotypical guffaw, why are you above the rules, and so on – that never goes down well for some oddity of reasons that escape me.
Names I rarely remember as I have something called a fukity memory..his words must have been slightly above average or stertpyical for me to rememeber a name.

Yes nookie ( i know she writes - probably omitted a scone recipe) I will read you one day before aliens abduct me forever - this may happen this year forever and ii never did finish my books and shoe novella start me own site. Other than that I don’t really know anyone famous on these places. Some wrtie on the forums that is their medium and some of it is stuff of wonderment and giggles..but that is a hard level to maintain over the epochs.

Hadn't noticed anyone famous dear OP can you cite 3 examples. First thread, I see after, all these years? i do see cm fet crop up on the press frequently over here - usually titled scrounging wench wants men to spoil them - that's the gist of all the articles i have read this last year. For balance i did see one charity donation to such and such

In response to Doc Strange I am referring to the profile side of CS. And I agree everyone is a celebrity in their own world...

I'll only name two that have already outed themselves - Jane Wyman from the Go Gos - she's got a hand shake that could crush bones and Penn from Penn & Teller.

I actually saw a number of celebs at fetish events when in I was in the LA community, including Madonna during her phase (more musicians than actors), but since they've not outed themselves, I won't mention their names.

On the profile side, I think people enjoy their fictitious fame. Almost like role playing. Like putting on a mask and becoming your alter ego. Your profile names and intro allow one to let their alter ego out. Do some over inflate it, without a doubt. But I think most are harmless.
