How would you like it if every boatfull of TV sets from China was accompanied by a sub with nukes ?

People have GOT TO start looking at things objectively or it will be the end of the US. I do not care how many weapons we got, we cannot fight 6.3 billion people and win.

This is exactly what most astute observers see it as...a deliberate provocation by the US. This is the same as getting the nuke deal, releasing their funds but then not letting them use US or European banks due to the economic sanctions that remain in force. (most trade $5 trillion in oil alone, is in US dollars)

This is all part of helping to set up another nuke 'yellow cake' type confrontation the US will take to the UN Sec. council for a yet another coalition for regime change under either HRC or Trump. And yes, the speculators can be counted on to take oil prices back to $70-$80/per.

The US will invade Iran sometime during the next 8 years. The nuke deal was done with hardliners in Iran because in the Iranian leadership are all hardliners and the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps)...runs the country.

Look the Iranians want nukes...period. And it has nothing to do with Israel first, because they do too. SO, they want nukes because they had a front row seat watching what happened to Iraq because they didn't and what hasn't happened in Pakistan or N. Korea...because they do.

So sometime before the Iranians get nukes...it's more shock & awe.

Fuck Iran.
The US isn't trying to provoke anyone. We just aren't policing them anymore.
They have waited and wanted the power to nuke world now they have it.
Have your own country control the crazy MF's.
We are protecting our own people now.
Bye bye.

How many Chinese military ships escort Chinese cargo to LA, right to the port?

How many Russian, German, Iranian, etc. military cruisers and destroyers accompany their cargo ships to the Port of NJ? Miami? New Orleans?

How many Iranian military ships are conducting exercises in the Gulf of Mexico, 2 miles from shore?

The answer is zero, zero, zero.

How many US military ships 'escort' cargo in the Straight of Hormuz, right off the Iranian shore, and conduct exercises there?

The answer is not zero.

It turns out that this whole story is a hoax. The article at tolerance.ca attributes the Voice of America as the source for the story. The VoA denies this:

"A Voice of America story on this issue on May 5 erroneously reported that a U.S. Defense Department spokesman had commented on the statements in Tehran.

The spokesman cited in the story Thursday (Colonel Steven Warren) made no such statement this week. The spokesman had issued a comment about U.S. naval procedures in the Gulf on May 5, 2015, and that year-old statement was mistakenly highlighted this week.

So much ado about nothing. However, the hoax does indicate the level of paranoia prevalent in the US Right and as such is yet another reason why these people should be ignored and their views, especially on foreign policy consigned to the trash can in the same manner and speed as one would employ getting rid of a threatening virus.

Ah bullshit.

The article was on the VOA website. I originally read it there. When I went to post it, it had been scrubbed, so I used the Torrance.ca site.

2. Us has traditionally insisted on right of navigation.
3. Iran issued threat.
4. Us backed under Obama backed down.

WHy do you think your links get scrubbed. The same thing happened with your link about the soldiers being (surrounded) trapped a few months ago.
Even fox scrubbed it.

0. Points 1.-4. above taken from a source that was falsified (and has now been yanked for being crap), so none of the hysterical whining about the implications of 4. are of any import.

Look closely people, these are the words of someone who can't admit when theyMre wrong in the face of overwhelming evidence. The original article was clearly wrong, so it was removed, which happens sometimes in news. However, despite the fact that major news outlets removed it because of its inaccuracies, Fido here refuses to accept that it, and by extension he, was wrong. If he can't accept that he was wrong about this little news article, then it's pretty easy to draw connections to his stance on climate change. The guy latches onto outdated or cherry picked information to validate his world view, or even outright lie if the need arises. There's a word for people like this: pathetic.

The headline for this thread is pure crap. Firstly, the VOA article is no longer available on line.

Secondly, CNN news reports the order for armed ships to escort merchants ships in the Straits was only temporary and has expired. Phydeaux dishes up shameful right wing drivel.

Washington (CNN) — U.S. Navy ships will no longer accompany U.S. and British flagged cargo vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, a practice that began when the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's navy seized the Maersk Tigris, Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren told reporters Wednesday.

Warren said the military order authorizing the mission expired and is considered unnecessary to continue given there have been no further incidents with Iran.

On Thursday morning, Iran's Foreign Ministry said has released the Maersk Tigris. The company managing the Maersk Tigris, Rickmers Shipmanagemen, confirmed Thursday that the ship has been released.

CNN first reported on Navy ships escorting cargo vessels last week, after the Tigris was seized.

Iranian officials said they were holding the Marshall Islands-flagged ship Maersk Tigris because of an unclear court decision.

Rickmers Shipmanagemen said in a statement last week that the dispute apparently dates back to 2005, when a separate Maersk Line vessel delivered a shipment to Dubai that was later disposed of.

Notice the date of the CNN report. Thanks to Tweakabelle.

It's a far cry from when the US was fucking with them real bad and they threatened to mine the Strait.

If some asshole new President doesn't fuck it up we might just be OK with Iran.
