One problem with asking Republican delegates to vote their consciences is that their consciences were purchased years ago by the NRA.

Has the NRA also purchased the consciences of GOP representatives' constituents? Maybe, just maybe, the GOP representatives are accurately representing their constituents?

Handguns are used to commit almost 2/3 of all murders. Handguns. Why the hate for rifles and "assault weapons?"

Actually, it was 91% in 2014 in cases where the weapon was identified.
Murder Victims by Weapon

Right. Of all the gun murders, handguns were about 68% (close enough to 2/3) at, like 5,500 or so, and almost 2,000 cases where the gun type wasn't identified. Something tells me that at least some of those unidentified types are handguns.

Maybe you think nothing of it.

Do you insist on being the biggest dullwit on the planet? There is no one but you who would possibly interpret what I said, how I said it, as my 'thinking nothing of it.' Well OK, one or two others, maybe.

The argument often bleated by the anti-control crowd is that "guns don't kill people," one of the most idiotic slogans ever spoken.

That's only because you don't understand the slogan. Walk into a gun store.

So, if non-gun owners were to walk into a gun store and see all the signs saying "weapons that won't kill anybody! for sale!" we might get a better grasp of things? I'll have to check that out.

How many people are killed each year by "assault weapons" at the hands of civilians? What about pistols? Rifles? Shotguns?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandy_Hook_Elementary_School_shooting

And quite a few others.

The majority of mass murders involve rifles, shotguns, military weapons of great variety.

Most 'normal' crimes or occasional defense from crime involve only hand guns.

Do you have the stats on how many homes were defended with military rifles vs. hand guns?

Oh, wait! Yes, I almost didn't get your point, there;

As long as the murders from mundane crime exceed the number of victims of mass murderers with army rifles, there's no need to regulate control of army rifles or shot guns, right? The mass murders by assault weapons, rifles, and shot guns being nothing more than a "cost of doing business" in defending the home with defensive small arms, right? So we're good to go on un-limitation of sale of large weapons by not hindering access to those any more than we limit the regular citizen looking for home defense buying a good pistol. Good to know.

"Gangsters and nut jobs are people, too!," as they say.

Your belief that the majority of murders are committed with long guns prove that you get your information from sites that lie to you to gain your support.

not surprising:

How could 21% of any group think this is anything other than Islamic terrorism.

By going by factual information instead of "perceptions" "from what they know or have heard"?

If you think it -- it doesn't just materialize.

That's how.

Well, actually, I neither said nor implied any such thing.

What is it about unfathomably stupid people that makes them want to continuously display that phenomenal stupidity to the world?

Along with fundamental stupid, do they have something like a built-in 'stupid beacon' gene?

I don't really think this is due to Islamic terrorism; at least not the primary reason. I think this guy couldn't deal with his repressed homosexuality (and it was repressed due to his religious beliefs) and was a couple beers shy of a 12-pack.

Don't tell you you support the sale of military grade assault weapons to the civilian population.

I won't tell you that.

I'm not sure how you even fathomed to leap to that conclusion.

Military grade assault weapons are not sold to the civilian population no matter how many times MSNBC repeats it.

I really wish they were, though. Ideally without the NFA wait times.

And without the artificially high price tag.

With his statement in front of us we can see clearly that you are lying. He never said that...He said the "majority of mass murders". Once again we see what a lying punk you are who will say anything no matter how outlandish just to try and score points.

[My Bold]

Not quite. Not a "stupid" gene but a "fear" gene.

You know what other thing these mass murders have in common? They're perpetrated by Democrats... I say we ban Democrats.
