http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/15pdf/14-10154_19m1.pdf

quote:

12 VOISINE
v.
UNITED STATES
Opinion of the Court
III
The federal ban on firearms possession applies to any
person with a prior misdemeanor conviction for the “use
. . . of physical force” against a domestic relation.
§921(a)(33)(A). That language, naturally read, encom-
passes acts of force undertaken recklessly—
i.e.,
with
conscious disregard of a substantial risk of harm. And the
state-law backdrop to that provision, which included
misdemeanor assault statutes
covering reckless conduct in
a significant majority of jurisdictions, indicates that Con
-
gress meant just what it said. Each petitioner’s possession
of a gun, following a conviction under Maine law for abus-
ing a domestic partner, therefore violates §922(g)(9). We
accordingly affirm the judgment of the Court of Appeals.

Not all misdomeanor domestic violence can be used to keep a gun from a person. One example cited is dropping a plate on the floor with soapy hands and cutting one's spouse is technically domestic violence but is purely accidental. Throwing the plate, isn't and might qualify to keep the person from a gun

Yeah, how many paid their tickets right now for dropping a soapy plate on their spouses head and splitting it open by dint of pure accident?

We got $5 yet?

Fascinating lineup for this one: "KAGAN, J., delivered the opinion of the Court, in which ROBERTS, C. J., and KENNEDY, GINSBURG, BREYER, and ALITO, JJ., joined. THOMAS, J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which SOTOMAYOR, J., joined as to Parts I and II."

It is way worse than that.

They just ask "Are you afraid of him ?" and it is over if she says yes. At least in Ohio. And the conviction and restraining order are almost automatic.

Men should just jack off or hire prostitutes and never get shacked up. Ever. And if you jack off enough they will be the horndogs instead of us and then we get the upper hand.

And I happen to know that if a Man can control his sex drive and not dote over the Woman, treat her equal but no better, she will become very friendly. It is these horny fucking children who make them think they have a gold plated pussy.

They are not towers of virtue either. I know one guy whose olady told him she has a restraining order on him when she did not, and then filed for divorce on the grounds of abandonment.

Well, Ohio has a restrictive abortion law, so there is a horse apiece for you there.

FR -

To paraphrase something said earlier this evening on television:

So, now you can either beat your spouse or own a gun - but not both.
Sort of a "Sophie's Choice" for ignorant jerks.
