LadyPact -> What an amazing trip! (7/19/2016 6:44:29 PM)

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I don't always have the liberty to post places that I'm going to visit in advance. This time around, there was a secondary reason as well, as a part of the reason for doing this trip was to do a dedication of a piece of leather to a woman who has been a wonderful friend to MP and I for a number of years. We tried to keep this a secret to the majority of the online world, which worked to a certain degree.

Due to the travel, we arrived fairly late Friday night. This gave us time to just catch up with a small group of friends. Basically, the other couple and her submissive. First time I met the latter, and he is such an amazing guy! We hung out by the pool, waiting for the opportunity to talk about plans for the next day until after a certain woman was up past her bedtime and ready to hit the sack. Once she was tucked in, we were free to discuss this surprise we'd been sitting on for her that we'd started planning two months ahead of time. Talk about old times, old friends, who would be there, etc, etc.

Saturday. The big day! We did a quick breakfast and each of us had our jobs for the day. Mine was getting my hand-written presentation typed up while the recipient was taken out for a while for 'errands' along with some other organizing stuff. Oh, crap! Class has to happen and we had the wrong time! Rush some more to be on time (like you'd think a person is supposed to be). BDSM 101 that was being given by one of the few people I actually use the big "E" word about. If you ever get to meet Master Bear, take my advice and do it. The man has more knowledge about kink in his little finger than the average person has in their whole selves.

From class, more hiccups. New restaurant for the munch. We're just hoping the room is going to be big enough. I've got a hold on this piece of leather and the pages I've typed up for the dedication like I'm holding onto life, itself. People from all over the state are coming in. The room was already emotional because we hadn't seen a lot of these people for so many years. Lots of misty eyes.

Room was packed. We hadn't told everybody exactly what the "secret" was, but so many people showed. With so many there, we knew we had to push the time up a bit.

I've presented leather a number of times before. That doesn't mean I don't still get nervous. <grin> Thank goodness for typed notes.

I don't think I have the words to discuss how this went. It was such a heartfelt moment. I wasn't even five minutes into speaking when the honored person grabbed my hand, tears barely being held back as she was recognized by her community. As I stood there, attempting with meager words to recognize her dedication to her service in creating a community, I knew it was such an honor to be the person speaking. She never let go. Not even after the leather went around the room.

On to the play party! Mushy part over. Time to have fun! I won't kiss and tell but it was a fabulous night. I don't even know what time we wrapped up. All I remember is being very happy and very ditzy going home.

They got me back, though. Unbeknownst to me, our hosts had planned an invite-only brunch. One of those 'fifty of your closest friends' deals. I have no idea of how they put this together. I just woke up to all of this activity at 7:30 on a Sunday morning. Lil blonde girl, bouncing all over decorating like she's fueled with six pots of coffee, four people in the kitchen making food... I'm standing there, diet Pepsi in hand, just trying to stay out of the way.

Leave by noon went right out the window. Good food. Good talks. A bunch of people in the pool. Bear hugs. Smiles. Laughs. Mimosas. The best times. Who could ask for more?

That "We miss you" sign that was hanging by the pool? It was the first thing we packed with us for the trip home. It will be hanging in our house to remember this weekend. I think I have the perfect spot for it.
