Admin -> Section Guidelines (8/2/2016 2:58:16 PM)

This forum is provided as a support resource for the IRC chatrooms on Collarspace.

Subjects which are unacceptable regardless of circumstance include but are not limited to minors engaged in sexual activities, bestiality, incest involving minors, necrophilia, snuff and criminal activities. Determinations as to the acceptability of posts to this forum will be made based upon content.

We ask that you please keep your posts civil and mature and not insult the kinks, preferences, or lifestyle of the other users posting to this forum.

Posts which do not pertain to the Collarspace chatrooms may be moved to another forum.

Casteele -> RE: Section Guidelines (8/22/2016 11:42:17 AM)

Addendum:

Please obey all the guidelines as posted by the site's Administrator (above), as well as the overall site's Terms of Service (here), as well as any policies in place which affect the site as a whole (You can see them all by checking the links given at the bottom of most web pages on this site, including the main page and your profile page).

In addition, and to to help clarify some things..

This is not required, but I do strongly suggest people read the many available web pages on issues such as "Netiquette" (Here's the entry on the subject on Wiki, and one of the long-time and well-known Internet guides from Albion, both of which are established from many, many years of experience by many people and settings since the early days of the Internet), and topics such as How to Ask Questions the Smart Way (so they get answered!), from catb.org/esr. Other good resources for general guidelines when posting include the guidelines written and pinned in most of the sub-forums here, including ones such as this: Dungeon of Political and Religious Discussion Guidelines (Note that this chatrooms forum is not as liberal as that one, however, since this one is not aimed at.. potentially "hot" political topics..)

One of the guidelines I often post (and follow) on any forum is also the very simple idea of.. Read the forum a bit before you post, get a feel for it and it's users. Watch and observe, learn how they post.. and what (and how) they avoid certain topics or posts. This can often mean the difference between "surviving" any forum, or quickly getting yourself trouble with the community and/or moderators.

And lastly, if in doubt.. Ask first, and consider how you present yourself. Most users will be happy to answer your questions, and will mostly respond in the same tone as you post. If your post comes off as "snarky", you will likely get several "snarky" responses, so you might want to just be simple, to the point, and polite/courteous. It will go a long way to making enjoyable and good use of the forums.

Happy posting and/or chatting!
