I know it was a '50s dance over there, but it's a polite way of referring to the vertical slam dance on this side of the pond.

I know that, never understood it.

And I have been on the Atlantic....

I dont care what anyone says, it is a bit (QUITE A FUCKING BIT) larger than a pond.

another point about that nickname is that ponds are a body of water completely surrounded by land.

So whoever coined that nickname needs to be beat about the head and shoulders with his own arms.

One last point, I have never seen 50 foot swells on any goddamn pond I have ever been fishing on, even in the worst weather.

The Atlantic is a temperamental bitch of an ocean (especially the North Atlantic) who cant make up her goddamn mind about what mood she is going to be in during the day or night.

Well, with Burt Reynolds, it would be never go on a canoe trip on a river in Georgia, Barbara Steele had a problem with piranha in the swimming hole, and Julie Adams was not fishing

That you can fly unassisted, dressed only in a cape and leotards 'faster than a speeding bullet' and your hair stays right in place and never...gets messed up.

That you can be a man of steel, (stainless I guess) more powerful than a locomotive yet be in the same room with a rock and go...all too pieces.

That a team of very experienced, ex-paramilitary rescuers can fire what seems like 10,000 rounds at their pursuers and nobody...gets a scratch.

That 5 shooters can be in a small country convenience store, firing pistols at each other point blank and...nobody gets hit.

Wasn't the A Team the telly rather than a film?

Hate to burst your bubble, but there are written accounts of situations that you describe happening in the old west, the most humorous is about two men that chased each other around a poker table firing at each other.

While no one in the crowded saloon were killed, some suffered grazing wounds and the mirror as well as a much admired painting behind the bar needed replaced.

The butler did it.

If Tom Cruise is within 100 feet of you, leave town.

Super powers will get rocks thrown at you, at least once per 2 hour runtime. Don't admit to having superpowers.

In a horror movie:

The more you run, so will tree roots grow and you will trip, fall, injure yourself and eat a lawnmower as a result.

In sci-fi:

You've never seen ____ before. Do not be so eager to explore it. If you have never seen it... perhaps you should not go near it until you understand what it is you are dealing with. If you do, see "Horror".

In drama:

If you utter the words 'I love you.' the words you spoke spell death to one of you.

In comedy:

He who laughs last is in the blooper reel.

In light-hearted-chick-flick:

I hate him. No... forget that... I love him!!!

Don't be fickle.

In a documentary:

It's a fucking documentary.
