Things they might not have picked up during the general course of life prior to kink that might need either hands on to practice or just information they will be able to use in the moment as well as later on. A few examples of each:

Leather care/general equipment care and cleaning
Bootblack
No strike zones
How to restore electrolytes
The chemical process which takes place when you bring endorphins out to play.
I would explain crashing and ways to combate it with things like dark chocolate.

Stuff like that which might not have been studied or discovered yet.

First thing my dom and I did was discuss his expectations - and my reactions to said expectations.
Then we talked about it some more.
I was brand spanking new (pun intended), so there was a fair amount of ground to cover (again, pun intended).
Among the first things we talked about was that should the relationship progress, he would never do or ask/demand anything that would affect my family/friends/work. So , no dumb stuff with butt plugs, or masturbating at work, or odd protocols around my (adult) children.

We also went over how to make a cup of coffee - non-coffee drinker here, and how to serve it(on a tray).

As for obedience training - that was the fastest thing - he pretty much told me that I did what he said, or there wasn't a relationship. Period. I picked up on that one really quickly. Didn't even need a week to get it - but then, I may be exceptional.

All in all, I think my "training" lasted about 2 hours, with occasional reiterations, because I couldn't remember what he liked in the way of vegetables......

The first 10 or so things you should do in training a new sub...

1) You should be clear about what you want out of the relationship
2) You should make sure you're clear about what she needs and wants out of the relationship
3) You should figure out whether 1 and 2 are compatible over the term you expect the relationship to run
4) You should get to understand her strengths and weaknesses
5) You should learn some technique (munches and events will help here)
6) You should reflect on what "consent" means, and be happy that you're not going to fuck up
7) You should figure out what kind of entry into the relationship is going to produce the best result
8) You should talk about it with her, and be comfortable that she understands
9) You should decide on the things you'd most enjoy her doing and learning
10) Then you should agree those things with her

I suspect that this wasn't what you were after but....

Status: offline 		Agree that it's a case-by-case thing. But I've trained several subs that I first met on CM or CS. By the time we first meet, I will have reviewed my rules and her hard limits with her. So those fundamentals are out of the way when we first mee. Immediately, when they arrive at my place, I put her submissive attitude to the test. As she stands inside the front door of my house, I blindfold her and then tell her to remove all her clothes without hesitating and to stand still so I may inspect her body. If she does, it's promising that she comes with the right attitude. She's not allowed to act coy -- no hands covering anything. Then I do a visual inspection and then touch her with my hands. Depending on my mood, I may then tell her to kneel and open her mouth. She must give me a BH and since she has received my rules, she must swallow. After that, I remove the blindfold and take her by the hand to show her around the house. We then sit and review the rules again. Sometime that first day, I will test her on whether she will perform ass-to-mouth sex (my favorite). The next day, I take her to go shopping for clothes -- for home and outside use. She must model everything for me, including underwear at Victoria's Secret and then I give her the money to buy the things I like. Then,mee go to an adult store to buy the toys we will use -- sexual, bondage, discipline, etc. again,Moshe must go alone to the checkout with the money I give her to purchase. I do not need a domestic slave as I have a housekeeper, so that's not an issue. But I make sure that she educates herself to become an excellent chef. And then I take her to my country club to test her out in terms of her social skills and whether it embarrasses her to be seen with a much older Master. And eventually, I will lead her down the forest hiking trails to publicly display her by tying her naked between trees. And unless it was a hard limit to start with, I will start to teach her the intricacies of serving other guys, girls, and groups. After several months of such training, I teach her the importance of establishing a beautiful air in the home,mistress ing music, literature, floral arrangements and more.

Status: offline 		I'd start with the basics. How do I take my coffee, how do you run the washer and dryer. How to operate the stove and microwave. What kind of foods I like. But honestly it would depend on the sub in question. They may already know these things so no training would be necessary.

1/ Learn how spoil it rotten.
2/ Learn how to guess when it may allow some 'play'.
3/ Learn how it expects to be restrained (ropes, cuffs, chains, gladwrap etc) so it doesn't have to actually do anything.
4/ Learn what trained seal like tricks that you as the Domliest of Doms should perform to impress it.
5/ Learn how long you may continue before it starts to get riled.
6/ Learn how to indulge its every whim afterwards so it doesn't have conniptions.
7/ Learn which, if any, other females you may talk to without pissing it off. This will be a very short list so may be readily committed to memory.
8/ Learn when it is unclean and how far away to stay for the duration to remain safe. It'll be the wrong call but so will being there so you might as well fuck off to the pub for a few days.
9/ Learn what flowers to buy in fruitless attempts to appease it.
10/ Learn the simple basic tenet upon which all Dom/sub 'relationships' are based - you are wrong.

A good slave on the other hand...

They may thence be broken, literally, with many a thrashing with soup ladles, potatoe mashers, the funny strainer thingy. For the more feisty ones you may need to thrash them with the kitchen sink itself, and everything on the draining board.
Then set them to task on cleaning my cooker - which frankly i am pretty scared off, and, who knows what kitty tributes lurk under it

1) Stop calling her "a sub"
2) Get to know her; not just events from her life, but hopes and dreams, regrets, happiest memories, etc.
3) Allow her to get to know me so that she understands the reasons behind some of my wants and desires.
4) Find out what her "happy triggers" are. What gets her motor running?
5) Clearly explain how I view polyamory.
6) Lay out exactly what I expect from her on a day-to-day basis (not much. I don't micro-manage) including those things I consider to be deal-breakers.
7) Explain how my conditions may affect her life (sleepless nights for me, etc.).
8) Make sure she knows exactly what she can expect from me in regards to how much "managing" I will or won't do.
9) Explain my dietary preferences (for those few times she'll be allowed to cook. I don't eat anything that comes from a pig and onions could kill me).
10) Make sure that she knows "Communication Street" doesn't have a ONE WAY sign on the corner.
