Not entirely sure about the age thing in terms of mainly older guys being into bigger women.
When I was in my twenties I had friends who liked a women "with something to hold onto" and they meant big ladies, not just people with a few curves. There are plenty of youngsters living around me who could be described as BBW, many of whom have good-looking boyfriends of all shapes and sizes. Sometimes the guys are big as well. I know some girls prefer that but not always. Someone I know who is larger prefers really skinny guys and she is never without a boyfriend. I also see plenty of fit muscular guys with BBW girlfriends or wives.
The whole fetish thing is a bit chicken and egg. You can search for any flavour of women you want on the net. If a guy is into blond and shaved, small breasts, big and beautiful, muscular - you can find them all. I think it is only prejudice about size that makes BBW a "fetish" where a guy who only likes petite brunettes is just a "normal" guy with a preference.
For me, I don't really get it because I don't really go for a physical type, be that size, race or height. I know the one larger girlfriend I had, who I was with for a couple of years, liked me physically because I am over 6ft with broad shoulders. I'm not a "big" guy though and I was just over 30 and pretty athletic at the time. I tend to find people physically attractive once I get to know them, whatever their body shape. I just have to get to know people.
On that note, the idea of going to munches is great because you can be more confident that a guy gets you and is not just into your body, but if he is really into your body, is that altogether a bad thing if he gets you in other ways as well? I would go for real life meets over the internet any day, but I know the internet works for some.
I think that sometimes younger guys don't want to openly admit that they like larger girls, whereas older guys are less likely to think that way. Maybe some older guys are also better at not objectifying you, or better at making you feel comfortable with their attentions. But I have to say when I look around I also see lots of young guys with BBW partners.
If you were a slim 6ft blond you might not worry so much about a guy finding you really hot, unless it was all he cared about. Maybe some of the younger guys who like your body aren't so bad. That's obviously for you to judge though.
