The lads all looked tired and everything felt half-hearted to me in the last series that I saw. It was something of a disappointment. Is the latest one better?

I havent seen the latest season yet, but I plan to, I have to agree with Peon on the last season, But I do like it so I will probably get around to it.

I'm with peon as well: the last series really put me off bothering with it again. (Which makes me think of some people's reaction to the casting of a badly dressed Colin Baker as Doctor Who: maybe they need to cancel Red Dwarf completely for a decade and a half and get a Welsh kid's telly producer to relaunch it?)

Season 10 was it, or was it 9-10, wasnt very good that one and they didn't use a studio audience or canned laughter for it. Season 11 and 12 they filmed back to back and they will show 12 next year. They did look older obviously...ever checked out Jules's age? I thought the writing was back up to scratch in season 11 :) its not lost its charm on me and good comedy is rare these days Incidentally Dirk Gently Ep1 is worth a watch although it starts of a little slow and the youtube trailer is shite.. i never saw the olde series and i actually forget how the book went, or if there were more than one book. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15cvmqfZ-8g

Craig was a bit of a lad back in the day, (before he got famous) but he sure as hell didnt deserve to spend that time in jail...remand is one of the most unfair parts of the system. Ive seen Black Books, Farty Towels, NTNON, Young Ones, The goodies, RD, Bottom, Filthy, Monty Python. The new Statesman, BlackAdder, Most things with Rowan Atkinson altho I havent seen his movies . Alas Smith and Jones, Hale and Pace, Laurie and Fry, gawd, there are too many to mention. I do like Mrs Browns Boys My "to watch" list is full of stuff...

I only fount on Friday there was a series called dirk gently in 2004 tue to the noel? But then I saw the 2016. slow start...but marvellous :)

What I liked about Red Dwarf initially was that the writers seemed to be taking the piss out of every daft SF cliche they possibly could, often very cleverly and inventively. It went off when they got more into world building, as the world they'd created for it just wasn't all that interesting.
