First, you people need to go here Did a test fire and punched a hole through one side of an engine block. (let the anti gun people consider that!) To make this baby man portable, need to find a better battery source. On less destructive notes: 1) Dont trust the amp reading on blade fuses, had a board smoke that I was building for a home brew ham rig, the 15 amp should have popped and didnt, burned out about 12 bucks worth of components and ruined a board. 2) If you are into building electronics, your first project should be a constant current power supply for your bench (see item 1) because it seems that there will be current fluctuations when the winds blow the power lines. 3) there are suppliers for vacuum tubes, and I am talking new ones, not hold overs from the old days (although there are plenty of those still around.) 4) Mice and rats are not the only critters that eat cable insulation... squirrels do as well and they scold you for yelling at them for eating the shielding off your antenna coax. (wonder if coax makers use nut flavored outer coverings.) For those who live with a technogeek 1) Electronic tools are not for use on anything but electronics (in other words, if you need to pluck eyebrows, get the damn tweezers from the medicine cabinet.)
