jlf1961 -> The 'Us' and 'Them' identification guide. (10/30/2016 6:27:03 PM)

Okay, since it is well known that there are two main groups on the planet, 'Us' and 'Them' with supporting fringe groups of 'The Other Them,' and 'We few.'

Now, the 'US' are an easy bunch to recognize, they are the ones that agree with everything you stand for.

There is a fringe group of 'Us' who are harder to figure out, since some of them agree with some of what you believe in but not all of what you believe in.

And then they support some of the stuff 'Them' believe in.

And then there is the fact that 'Them' often refer to themselves as 'Us' which of course they aint 'Us' they are them.

Then of course you have people like 'The Donald' and 'Hillary' who are neither 'Us' or 'Them' which makes you wonder how they managed to gain the support of so many of 'Us' and 'Them' members.

Of course, people switch sides all the time, which makes telling them apart from each other that much harder, so you have to be wary of who you trust.

Now, to tell the basic 'Them' member, just follow the simple rules:

If they wear suits and ties, have business style haircuts OR have bars, oak leaves, birds or stars on their collar they are 'Them.'

If they have stripes on their cuffs, stripes and funky looking birds, propellers etc on their sleeves, then they belong to a completely different group known as 'Squids, bubble heads' and should be treated with care, those boys and girls think they can swim across oceans, and some of them like boats designed to SINK. (totally different identification guide applies)

If they speak with an accent different than your own, they belong to 'Them.'

If they understand the game of cricket, they are not 'Them' or 'Us' but fall into the group known as 'The Others' (not to be confused by 'The Others' from the movie the fifth wave.)

Of course there are more specialized groups of 'Us' and 'Them' which are your fellow ground pounders (bar, bird, oak leaf, star excluded) and of course there are the prophets from god, aka Sargents (again totally different group.)

I do hope this helps the folks trying to understand the present political confusion in the US.

Just wondering; does that group also include those playing football by using a ball which is kicked using the foot?

I'm puzzled by this American loathing of cricket. Is it some sort of overcompensation because they don't really believe that rounders is a proper game for grown men, do you think?

Its not that we loath cricket, it is just that it is too civilized.

When, in all of history, has a cricket match turned into a brawl involving all the players on both teams?

Nor does cricket involve curve balls, fast balls, screwballs etc.

Seriously, look up the physics behind a curve ball. I will help

Jeff, its the quiet ones (not saying that I'm one...) that we need to worry about. The loud ones are too easy to know (and stay away from).

Fair point: I don't think even the recent fuss in Pakistan about match fixing led to that.
(This doesn't alter the fact that you're playing rounders instead of cricket, though...)

You're forgetting "that other lot over there", "those bloody weirdoes", and "that bunch of wankers".
Or are they subsets of one of the other groups?

Thank you, I finally understand !!

MrRodgers -> RE: The 'Us' and 'Them' identification guide. (11/10/2016 1:56:10 AM)

Hillary and the Donald only really gained the support I'd say, of the primary voters which are a fraction of the general election voters

In the general election, there were only the two real choices without much real support in either. It seems more erroneously believed that the Donald can change things for those who voted for him which he will not, then people believed that Hillary's status quo was the way to go, and was more likely to happen.

Except that in the political sense of the equation, both Hilary and Donald fall into the group known as "Batshit Crazy Them."

and the 'US' and 'Them' have nothing to do with politics except when you factor in the Military Industrial complex vs. The Financial consortium, with a nod to the environmental tree hugging lunatics (which may or may not include pot smoking stoners.)

There should be drawings!! This is so a Dr. Seuss book!

Dont need drawings, but there is a test.

If you can see your reflection in a mirror, you may be one of 'them.'

DesFIP -> RE: The 'Us' and 'Them' identification guide. (11/10/2016 7:34:44 PM)

So all of the us are vampires?

Or non physical paranormal entities.

But the key word is 'may'

See, the 'us' pride themselves on moving unseen through the currents of society, since we know that 'they' are out to get us.

Of course, if you look in the mirror and it shatters, you are definitely one of 'us.'

But then, you have to remember that 'they' are not the same as 'them' though the two groups sometimes work together.
