Great Britain is in need of my philosophy!

Now granted, since male ancestors were forced to leave the United Kingdom under penalty of death (actually, leaving was not an official option, but a choice made by said ancestors to keep from becoming deceased) for crimes against the crown , at least one was a supporter of Bonnie Prince Charlie (the rightful ruler of the United Kingdom,) and the other was a hot headed Irish bloke who supported a Free Ireland, and the British Government may have some legal loophole to keep me from entering the country (didnt seem to matter when I was in the US Army, although I was restricted to post each time.)

I figure that with a little effort, I could get that country running like a well oiled bourbon fueled southern clock.

The rather tenuous nature of the Staurt pretenders' claim to the throne doesn't bother the Scots now, why should it be an issue for somebody who lives in Texas?
(And if the young pretender had had a clue what he was doing, he could have taken London, so his failure to do so was down to incompetence and stupidity, which suggests he'd have made an even worse King than any German called George ever did anyway.)

The issue, is quite simply, the Royal forebears of the present royal family and members of the house of Lords, saw fit, to declare some of my ancestors criminals of the highest order, after which, one branch of the family lost hereditary lands and holdings, which, reading the laws of inheritance as pertaining to such properties and noble titles, should legally belong to my father, being the oldest living male descendant of the individual branded a traitor against the crown.

Thus, since there really was no trial (just a royal order to kill on sight, says a lot about the british legal system) I feel that I am obligated to return to the ancestral homeland and put a Stuart on the throne, disband parliment, hold new elections, and generally make a royal mess of things in order to come up with a working system of government that allows for the ownership of firearms, the open carry of swords (and other party favors) the adoption Church of the Way as the state religion, and accelerate research into fusion power so that 200 ton tanks can be built to allow Great Britain to assume its rightful place as ruler of a world (and eventually a galactic empire) with a Scotsman on the throne!

I never claimed to be quite sane either.....

A nice idea in theory, but you haven't thought it through properly.
Of the two Scottish kings of England the second was so shit at the job that we had a civil war to depose him that ended with his execution. When monarchy was reinstated after the interregnum died with Cromwell, the country decided that it would be a much better idea to import a German than it would be to let anybody else called Stuart anywhere near the throne.
This is not a good advert, is it?

Weird as it sounds Jeff, that sounds completely sane and sensible to me and I have a piece of paper from Goodmayes mental hospital in Essex saying that I was released because they think I MIGHT be sane and safe.

Well, historically speaking, after they put some bunch who werent Scot (would have been better if they had a true, full blooded WELSH royal family) England ran into a lot of difficulties, which proves that the country was no longer being graced by the watchful eye of the almighty.

Didn't one of the Henrys marry a Taff ? My knowledge of the history of that era ( the first prince of Wales and onward) is shaky, to say the least. I have the feeling that first P.O.W. married Owain Glendower's daughter or sister or dog, or something.

I remember that that first P.O.W. got the job because his dad conned the welsh barons when they said they would only bow the knee to a prince that spoke both English and welsh equally well. The kid was almost new born when presented to the barons, so of course, he DID speak both equally well.

You could always move to the principality of Hutt, if it's still around Jeff. Nice and quiet there and no politics. It is ( or was) in Western Australia

Well, quite. The British Empire and the industrial revolutions were clearly epic fails.

And how much of the empire that the sun never sets on is still in British hands?

A Scotsman would never have so pissed off the American Colonists that they wanted to rebel.

James the first spent most of his reign pissing off the English, so I doubt his successors would have treated colonials any better.
