He went from basic unknown nobody to a major voice in Democratic/left of centre politics in the US. He went from 3% support to 43% support.

I think you're just making stuff up. Elizabeth Warren is very popular, in a Bernie Sanders kind of way, without the socialism. And she's powerful in the Senate. Lots of time for surprises. But she's a rising star in the Dem party.

I don't literally know the future. :P Warren is fantastic but I'm honestly not sure that she can connect with the seething rage and cynicism that Trump tapped into because however downright lovable she is, she's still Ivy League. But 4 years of Trump could definitely be enough to leave people desperately wanting their intelligence back.

I do think he was the strongest/best candidate and could have won as an Independent. I can also understand why he went for the Dem nomination instead.
