Sure you can, just put the province you want in the "Keyword(s) or City" box and you're good to go.

That doesn't usually work for areas outside of the US.

There's a drop-down box that has "All States" or you pick a single US state.
This seems to override all the other location boxes most of the time.
There's also a "Country" box which sort-of works most of the time.
The keyword/city box doesn't always work either.
How the hell "Birmingham" matches 'Kent' is bewildering; but it comes up on the search.

It certainly doesn't work for the UK and Europe.
And that's because the search feature is only geared for the US and US areas.
For instance, if I put "Kent", I get 'Kentucky' (US), not 'Kent' (UK).
Like many US-based sites, they don't cater for anything much outside the US territories.

What the hell is a province?

Site owner I require words, many.

So in essence if I was Searching say Scotland

Into the Keyword(s) or City box I would need to type Glasgow, then Edinburgh, Stirling, Falkirk, Dundee, Central Scotland, Scotland.... etc

it will return me 10 wenches and on the finest of all days, 2 of them wenches may actually be a women..i exclude 8 prodommes/scammers...poverty is my return even If i utilise the broken system.

have you considered taking up the knitting or baking me cakes?

I am afraid you will just have to search your five nearest cities - Unless anyone has a better idea?

Educate yourself WD!!

Province equates to county (UK) or other smaller area within a country.

Try other combinations too - not just 5.

Interestingly, most of the results I get when I use this keyword/city box only show very old profiles - nothing recent or within 3-4 years (last online dates).

So if you're outside of the US, the search feature for location is essentially broken.

I know what a province is...Grouchy Olde Dinosaur what about a shire region district canton etc? What is a city? Town?...I believed my answer encompassed all. Or do you require a lesson on eg Central belt, Central Scotland, Central Region, Stirlingshire, Falkirk District, Forth and Clyde Valley.

fyrftrandchick did you understand my answer....you can also sneak in two towns cities as location

Sometimes my location is Glasgow Edinburgh

other times its Glasgow / London..where you from anyhoos freedom...ah south east...better with a city.

Actually, if you are referring to Canadian provinces, then you are very wrong. There is no equivalent in the UK, the closest you come is Scotland.

Canadian provinces are effectively semi-devolved areas of Canada.
No different to most UK counties and other large UK metropolitan areas like Manchester and London.
Each and every province is still under the unitary authority of the Parliament of Canada.
So 'county' is a very similar construct to a province.
Scotland is an actual country (although not an independent sovereign nation), provinces of Canada aren't.

The search might work for you but it certainly doesn't work over here - not with any degree of accuracy or reliability.
If I do a search of my own area/district/county, I get very old profiles and none of the ones that I know exist on CS near me.
I also get ones that have nothing to do with my search whatsoever.
So that pretty much proves that it doesn't work here.

I'm waiting for them to add "Rotten Borough" to the list, myself.

They probably don't know it exists Michael!!

I'd like to search for "Pratts Bottom" (near me) but it shows nothing. lol.

The search is too specific and very Ameri-centric.
They *should* be able to search on anything but it doesn't work like that.

I have always equated Canadian provinces as similar to US states, politically and geographically.

They are very similar, but not quite the same. The difference is mostly philosophical in nature. In the US, the federal government's power is granted to it by the states, while in Canada, the federal government and the provinces have their areas of responsibility laid out in the Constitution, neither derives it's power from the other (in theory, each is it's own entity, that is why each province has its own regent, to represent the Crown).

No, it's what is reported on various sites as to the make-up of Canada.

If you can't see the similarity and try to make out it's different by throwing a comparison that doesn't work, I can't educate you.

But you carry on. Merry xmas.
