"When officers arrived at Angela Diaz’s condo last June in response to her 911 call, police say, they found her in tears, with a ripped shirt and red marks on her neck. A man had just tried to rape her in her garage, she said.

Anaheim police believed this was the gruesome result of a recent Craigslist ad, in which someone had posed as Diaz and invited men to visit her condo to participate in her “rape fantasy” encounters, even if she screamed and fought back

Detectives became convinced the electronic trail led to her husband’s ex-fiancee, Michelle Hadley, who soon faced 10 felony charges and the possibility of life in prison.

It was a bizarre enough case, but on Monday it took an even stranger turn: Authorities say they were fooled.

Hadley was exonerated, and the 31-year-old Diaz — accused of posing as a victim to frame Hadley — is behind bars."

Do you know what makes me so sad about this? It really was only a few years ago that the first case of a woman's ex-partner (or whatever in the hell he was) was the first conviction against the guy for doing the actual "come rape me" ad placement. (Not to mention the guy(s) that actually fell for the ad and raped her.)

Unfortunately, I can't find the original thread about the first case now. However, I know it was the case that several of us on the forums pointed to when folks would stumble on the forums asking if they should fall for... I mean "answer" ads from females they had never met who wanted a stranger to come and act out their rape fantasy. (Ha! Guess how I just found the link?)

This is sad on two counts. The first was the original case. That woman must have fought damn hard to make this case happen. (Like it or not, folks, these cases don't just "happen" for the victims like you see on SVU. It is damn hard for a case like that to ever make trial, especially one that doesn't have precedent.)

The other reason I find it sad? It took five years for somebody looking to have a different type of revenge to screw this up. It's just going to be another weapon in the 'rape apologists' arsenal,' because it will be the shining (another) example of, "no, the guy didn't really do it... Remember that one time where one chick wanted to screw over another chick so she faked her rape?"

It's just going to make it all the harder for the next person to actually be believed.

You're drunk again, aren't you?

Isn't alcohol supposed to be bad for whatever condition you say on the forums that you have?

But, no, I ain't into "bitches" and "my cock" doesn't get mail.

I find both those reasons terribly sad too, LP.

I think anybody trying to make sense out of those ramblings wonders a bit, I don't drink a lot but I am wondering if booze can make people quite that irrational or if there might not something stronger there? You know like a brick dropped on the head several times from great height?
