worshipru123 -> On my mind - missed opportunities (1/14/2017 12:14:08 PM)

A while back I met a lady friend from a previous job at a family restaurant. It wasn't really a date, just a get together.
At some point in the discussion she told me she was a freak. That kind of surprised me, not that she was but that she would say it in that atmosphere. Unfortunately the place was almost empty except for the couple in the booth right next to us. Anything said would be heard by all and I didn't feel free to speak more on the subject. I'm a pretty private person so while I was intrigued and interested I kind of mumbled a non-committal acknowledgment and that was the end of it.
Damn, missed opportunity. I wish I knew what kind of a freak she was / is and if she was fishing to see if I was or had heard something.
I guess the takeaway is that you shouldn't speak so openly about private matters in a public situation unless you know the other person won't be embarrassed by it. If you do, respect that they may not have the same comfort level as you and give them another chance to accept or reject your queries.
If she had whispered to me in that restaurant instead of speaking so loudly, that evening might have seen me naked on her motel room floor being driven around with a strap-on.

And no, we aren't in touch anymore.

I think the takeaway is not to get so hung up worrying about what other people think. Sounds like you were having a private conversation and you got tongue tied being concerned that people at other tables could overhear you. But they were likely not listening and wouldn't care that much if they did.

You're really jumping ahead and turning this into a fantasy. if she had whispered, maybe you would have been more comfortable and had a nice conversation.

Ask her or forever never know...is this still possible or write her a letter. Where you will apologize for being a buffoon and rejecting a conversation about her inner being.

But i am a little worried you perceive a relationship = to freak as in you may get rogered with a strap on.

The I am freak could mean absolutely anything. Like she hates shoes, has a medical condition, feels not normal in social situations, I doubt it alludes to her sexual desires. Possible. But i doubt it.
